Just like the title says I am a foster failure, I agreed to foster a cat, he was rescued from a hoarding situation and had a huge tumor growing out of one of his eyes and a severe infection in the other, they couldn't save either eye and he has no eyes but is the sweetest friendliest cat anyway it didn't take long and he grew on me, he goes nuts when I walk in the room he is in and he wanted to get to me so badly this morning he jumped into the shower with me. Anyway I can't give him back I just can't I have experience with blind cats so he will be fine

I am a big fat failue

this is buttons.

You might be a "failure" at fostering, but you are a big hero to your sweet new kitty. Congratulations on welcoming Buttons into your family!!

This! Hardly a failure! This is also the reason I don't think I can foster :faint::faint::faint:

Congratulations on your "failure." ;) You are both the better for it!!

He looks like he's smiling.

Congrats on your new kitty it kind of reminds me how i got my kitty oliver i work in a garden center and i allways took him home for the holiday's every time i would have to take him back it would kill me LOL .there were 2 cats at the garden center oliver which at the time was a young active cat and char a old black cat .oliver would allways bother char .with oliver they were having problems with him and could not keep him at the garden center so they asked me if i wanted to take him i could not say yes fast enough!!LOL now his my buddy!!enjoy your new kitty!

i have a couple of other cats, the older shepherd is fine with them the puppy on the other hand well lets say kitty is locked up when I am not home she likes to chase the cats and since he can't see I don't want her to hurt him.

I'm right there with you! I agreed to foster two baby bunnies from a large-scale rescue because the shelter was over flowing. My plan was to keep them for three months, no longer. I kept them for five months and then adopted them. That was five years ago. They are currently munching hay in the family room and plotting ways to con me into giving them treats!

Congratulations. I just wanted to let you know you're not alone. Our failures were 2 Great Dane / bull Mastiff x. Buttons is adorable.

What a wonderful person you are. You are not a failure. You are the world to Buttons!!!

I wish him many happy, healthy years with you and your family!!!!

Congratulations on your beautiful failure!

This is why I don't foster. I just couldn't let them go.

That's how the younger of our two dogs came to us. I agreed to keep her temporarily, just until her owner was located, because my son's stepbrother was the one who found her but couldn't take her home because of his other dogs. The rescue in our community didn't have any available foster space and I wasn't about to take her to the high-kill county shelter. She had a collar but no tags or chip and had obviously been fending for herself for quite a while, but she was so sweet tempered and obedient that we were sure someone had to be looking for her. Guess not, because that was years ago. She was the best family dog you could ask for, patient with kids and gentle with our rabbits. We had to put her down a few weeks ago (cancer) and I miss her every day.

It always makes me sad to see somone who has lost their eyes - human or animal. As long as you think your home would be the best for this particular cat, then great. If it turns out he'd be better off somewhere else, then that might be better for him. It just depends. But that is the difficulty of fostering - it's hard to let them go. Anyway, congratulations. :goodvibes
