Last year and the year before we had free dining so it was great to take less 'spends' than normal. We just took cash and last year one or two travellers cheques left over from the year before.
This year we are off to LA and for 3 weeks so will need much more spending money.
What is your preferred method of taking money over there? Do you just take a bit of cash, say £500 worth and the rest travellers cheques or is there a better method - I know you are only insured for a relatively small amount of cash on your travel insurance policy.
We haven't used credit cards that much before -just for the odd meal here and there - do you get 'stung' if you use them a lot over there and will that also mean that I need to carry my passport with me all the time for ID? I have just been talked into getting another 0% card from my Bank which does 'points' as well (not that I needed another)
Your experiences and views would be great.
