I-95 from N.J. on July 4th ???

Has anyone ever driven from N.J. area on July 4th. We are planning on leaving at 3:00 a.m. and stopping over in
Savannah. Never thought about possible heavy holiday traffic. Wondering if anyone has traveled on this day
in past years, did you run into any problems, etc. Thanks.

I would imagine that most of the traffic will be on July 3rd as people rush off for their 4 day weekend. I am leaving on July 5th myself. But not to avoid the 4th, it just sort of worked out that way.

We drove down to NC from NY on a July 4th weekend several years ago and it wasn't too bad except around the major cities.
