On Tuesday I called DVC Member Services to make some reservations for friends - I figured I haven’t been able to travel in a while due to all my Dad’s health issues so someone else may as well enjoy my DVC contracts! Anyhow the CM said “do you know you’ve got a lot of points that are expiring soon?”. Now I should have known but between taking care of my parents and things going on at work I have a hard time knowing what day it is let alone what month! Anyhow, I went home that night stewing over the fact that I might lose a bunch of points and then I realized that my brother was coming to town so I could escape for a while!

I called member services back on Wednesday and tried to make reservations for anywhere in WDW but it was all booked for spring break. So the nice CM asked if I had ever thought of going to Disneyland and within a matter of minutes I had everything booked. I had a short business trip on Thursday and Friday and then family stuff over the weekend so I haven’t done any planning other than make sure I have flights and a place to stay. Right now I’m sitting in NYC on a layover and later tonight I‘ll be happily checked in to the Grand Californian. :goodvibes

Good for you! Is this your first time to DL? Nothing like a quick, last minute trip to Disneyland. That's how most of our trips seem to happen. We get emailed a special on flights and before you know it, we're making calls and it's set.

I hope you have a wonderful time. I'm so jealous. :)

I am so happy to hear that you finally are getting away! :woohoo:

I hope you have an excellent time. I am super jealous of your getting to go to DL and stay at the GC. I can't wait to hear how it goes for you. :goodvibes Hug Mickey for me. :)

Yup, first time! I've been to CA before for work but couldn't make it to DL. Don't be too jealous ... I won't be going to Club 33!:headache:

wow an impulse trip tp DL! I bet you are going to have a blast! I want to get there soon!

Yeah! :thumbsup2

 They have my favorite ride!
Indiana Jones Adventure- Temple of the Forbidden Eye.

Saxton!!

I am so happy for you!! The GC is beautiful. DL is such a treat...it's so compact and close...Disneyland is just a walk away from your hotel room...and you can walk right into Californa Adventure from the hotel itself!
Let us know what you think.

Ah, I'm still going to have some twinges of jealousy. :)

Wow, first time. It's SO different from MK. You're going to have a blast. Are you going by yourself? I hope you get to experience everything you can. Be prepared if you get to go to DCA. It'ss totally under construction, but there are still plenty of things to see and do. The park just doesn't look all that pretty.

Keep wishing for Club 33. Could happen. :)

Hi guys!! I'm here and the Grand Californian is beautiful! I checked in late last night and just walked around a little. Unfortunately I woke up in the middle of the night with a migraine (I have bad, bad luck!) ... I didn't want to waste a day in one of the parks feeling like this but I refuse to sit in my room so I checked out Disneyland Hotel and Paradise Pier and then did some shopping at Downtown Disney (found they have a Basin so I'm happy!). My drugs aren't working on the headache so I decided I'm going to hit the bar and have a drink or 2 ... it can't get any worse!

Crap on a cracker, Sue, you have some luck don't ya'? Don't forget to hydrate. If you have a migraine, and I know that pain all too well, and you are drinking, you have got to hydrate, or yeah, it can be worse.

:goodvibes I hope that tomorrow is lots more fun. :wizard:

I hope the drinks help!

Congratulations on your trip! Disneyland is my favorite park! :cool1:

Fellow migraine sufferer here

Oh Sue! That stinks! I can't stand waking of with one of those ****s! There's no way to stop it then. What are you taking for it? I take Maxalt which is good if (and only if) I catch it in the very early stages.

Hope you feel better -

Be sure to steer clear of the area at the front gates which I refer to as "The Cursed Sting Zone": The ATM area. A wasp flew up my shirt there and stung my back 7 or 8 times. :headache:

This is what the nurse in the first aid building said.....

Okay....let's just lift the shirt and have a loo-o--o-o-oo wooooah!!! You got stung pretty badly, didn't you???"

Smooth, lady. Smooth and comforting.

Sorry.....I just had to let you know about that.

Too funny MM!! But no one is lifting my shirt up ... unless she's a really cute nurse!

It is really busy here and lines are long. I rushed back and did Indiana Jones twice and Pirates once first thing. Yesterday morning I took advantage of morning hours and did Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage and still had to wait 45 minutes! I don't think I'll do the Bobsleds this trip - way too long of a line.

I took a picture of the '33' ... that's the closest I'll ever get! Last night I was having dinner at DTD and a guy walked by with a Club 33 jacket - I was going to stalk him but then my dinner came.
