It is a very nice upscale hotel. Most people seem to compare it to the Grand Floridian in terms of class but obviously it is (a bit) cheaper being non-Disney.

The lobby is huge with a stream running through it, several full size trees and a couple of talking parrots !!

The rooms are very nice - furnished to a high standard. A good size with seating area and writing desk chair. They have a large TV with HBO/ESPN etc as well as on-command pay movies and Nintendo.

Each has a sliding door onto a (very) small balcony - which is the only real downside. By small I mean u can only stand on it.

The staff are very good. restaurants also are very nice but pricey.

For small children there is a deli/cafe type serving hot and cold food all dayplace that turns into a pizza counter in the evenings. the main hotel restaurant Cascades is also very good for breakfast etc.

The hotel is set in 1400 acres :earseek: of landscaped grounds which includes a huge pool area complete with waterfalls/swim through grottos and a couple of water slides for children.

It is set in a very quiet area close to DTD.

I am assuming you booked through Virgin or BA who normally reserve standard view rooms. These look out onto the driveway and hotel boulevard. My tip when checking in is to ask for a pool view room. These or the lake view rooms have very good views across the property and out onto Disney for the evening fireworks (from a distance obviously).

In all the years we have been staying there we have always got a pool view with no problem this way.

For a quick breakfast on the way out to the parks try the coffee and doughnut wagon near reception :)

I am sure you and your grand daughters will enjoy it there.

If you need anything further just let me know.
