Can anyone tell me about this Hotel? I am going to Disney for Spring Break and decided to go for a couple more days so I bid on Priceline and got this hotel for $40.00 anight. Any info would be appreciated. We are staying at the CBR the rest of the trip!!
TIA

We stayed there recently and while it was clean and we had no real problems with the place I believe that the Priceline rates are about all I would pay.

A long time ago I submitted a review of this hotel for mouseplanet.com I don't know if it's still there. I attend a conference at the Hyatt Orlando each fall. I know the first time I went I was astounded to see the two story stucco buildings. No elevators that I remember either. Housekeeping was banging a roll-a-way on each step to the second floor. The first year I stayed there for a AAA rate of 104 while conference attendees paid 134. The room was clean, standard double beds with coffee maker, but the tub is an oversized shower! The pools are not fancy, but the hot tub was warm, and we were able to use both into the wee hours of the morning (after our PI return, as none of the parks except Epcot were open late). The playground equipment wasn't fancy, but small kids would enjoy it.

Then I discovered codes rates. I stayed at CSR for 99 in a king room, and then got the Poly upgrade this past October. I think it's fine for priceline, but not paying more than Disney hotels!

There is a nice all-you-can eat Breakfast and Lunch buffet.

Transpo to parks is Mears bus. Some get charged a fee, others don't.

We stayed there for week last Easter (April 2002) and enjoyed it very much. It is an older property but maintained very well. The location is very convenient for getting to the parks, as it is at the intersection of SR 192 and I-4.

Ask to stay in the Orange Blossom cluster. This is the closest building to the front desk. The side entrance between Orange Blossom and Front Desk is near the snack bar. Very easy to order a quick brakfast and bring back to the room. You should also ask for an interior or pool view. Otherwise it's a view of the parking lot. Ask for ground floor if you have a lot of luggage... there are no elevators.

Be advised, the majority of the rooms have showers only, no tubs. If you have little ones that need a tub, I would call in advance.

There is also a security guard that checks parking passes as you enter the property...Just like Disney!

There is a Mears shuttle to the parks that was included with Priceline stays. You can ask at the front desk about that if you need it. We used our rental car because that was more convenient for us.

I wouldn't stay here at rack rates but for what we paid last year on Priceline ($30 + $5 Bonus), it was well worth it.

Thank you very much for the great info. I love getting suggestions on which part to stay in. Thankfully my kids are teenagers so a shower won't be a problem. We are also renting a car since we are going to be 3 hotels during this trip. We had planned on staying at CBR and Hard Rock but then we were able to add a couple of days to our trip so I went through Priceline to get a room to cut the cost alittle. We are now staying at the Hyatt, CBR and Hard Rock!!! Again thanks for the great reviews!!!

As other have said, the hotel is an older hotel but it is just fine for the price you got it. It is a conference hotel so there always seems to be something going on there.

The area is good, you are just down the street from World Drive. Many entrances to I-4 around. I particularly like the area because I live right near the hotel.

The only thing is that since it is a conference hotel, food costs are pricy...on par with Disney. But there are a number of options not to far if you plan to eat off property.

We ended up at this hotel due to our need to arrive in Orlando a day early. We couldn;t get into our hotel as it was booked and went thru Expedia to get a night here. It was Presidents weekend and had no idea aboutt he Daytona 500. We were stuck in traffic and called ahead to re confirm our check-in ( prepaid room ) and was assured that one king size room was being held for us.

Upon check-in we were told our room had been given to others , because they had over booked the Daytona Hotel and gave rooms away to them. We could have a double room, my husband had sat in car from N.C. to Orlando and 2 hours in traffic. He did not want us to be cramped in a double bed. Finally after about 5people we were given a king room, the one they didn't have.
We waundered the parking lot for about 30 minutes before a sweet bell man found us and directed us to the room. Which was not even on the map watch out for the 2700 rooms as they seem to be hidden between conferance areas. We were assured that the room had handicapped acess as I have a slight problem walking. We got a second floor room. We just couldn;t wait to leave.
The bellman actually apologized for they way we were treated at check-in. The desk clerk told me she assumed we waould want a smoking room because my husband was Indian and all Indians smoked. The bellman told me he had put in for a transfer to Las Vegas as he was embarassed to takepeople to the rooms.
Thank goodness we spent the next 8 nights at The Royal Plaza and it was wonderful. Our bellman actually lite up when we told him where we were staying. He said now that' a hotel.

Stayed 7 nights at end Jan 2003. Loved it.
friendly staff / room well appointed and very clean / only shower but OK with us - no kids / 1st floor with easy access to pool and hot tub / quiet / king bed / great to get to parks / didn't eat at the hotel as plenty of places around much cheaper.
Got it through Priceline for $30 and really would go back at the drop of a hat.
