Can anyone help?

My Husband had an accident on Monday evening and has injured his knee - he's had a scan and we've got an apointment this afternoon.
He can't put any weight on it and we leave a week today!

There's no way he's going to be able to use crutches all round the parks it is exhausting.

Can we hire a wheelchair in Disney?

I am so gutted - all the excitment has gone :guilty:
I feel terrible for him but at the same time I just think it's going to rouine are holiday.
We are returning as a extended family for the first time in 17 years.

Thanks
Miserable Sarah :rolleyes2

Yeah as soon as you get to the main gate of the parks you can get a wheel chair and might be able to get one from the resort (not sure on that though). We went once when I was in middle school and i had to be on crutches and made it all aroound except the parks. It was great using a wheelchair at the parks though! Good luck and hope his knee feels better before you all go, but I'd still get a wheel chair for him to take it easy while there.

You can rent wheelchairs and electric scooters at all of the parks - I'd get the scooter, so that he won't need anyone to push. Check on the disABILITIES forum for places to rent scooters outside of the parks, and for other hints as well!

YOU will be exhausted pushing him all over the MK.

There are co. offsite that have rental that will come to where you stay and deliver the scooter.

Sorry to hear he has been hurt.

Thanks for the advice - I'll check out the disabilities forum.

I fell at Disney spraining both my ankles, and rented the ecv - its a must!! And I agree check out the disability forum so you will be informed on the ques etc for wheelchairs - as well as check on renting it off site - your dh deserves an ecv at the resort as well as in the parks - there is just too much walking, and it does get hot in Disney - so pushing him in the wheelchair is do able, its also exhausting - esp in Animal Kingdom, AK has so many natural type bumps in the road that ecv's are rented out fast there!!
