Chapter Nineteen: Celebrate A World Full of Magic
Then, it was time for us to get on the wildest ride in the wilderness! Kylie and I discovered we can recite the entire safety spiel by heart. Disney nerd problems.
BTMRR is my least favorite of the three mountains, but its Mom and Kys favorite ride, so I love it because they love it.
We then decided to check out Pirates, and it was up and running! Unfortunately, I made the mistake of wishing George a good evening. If you know who George is, you know where this is going. If you dont
either Google it or live in your peaceful ignorance! Youre probably better off.
We went over the first drop and we got absolutely DRENCHED. It was worse than Ive ever gotten on Splash Mountain! Our feet were absolutely soaked and I hadnt even thought to put my phone in a plastic bag! (Luckily, it was okay.)
Then, we were backed up in bumper-to-bumper traffic from pretty much the second room, which made for a slow, bumpy ride through the Caribbean.
There was a little boy who was standing up behind us and pinching my mom. His sister said, Why is he standing? Shouldnt he sit? and the mom said he would be fine. The little girl said, But what if he falls out? Safe-D begins with her!
Then, my dad and sister went to go get a spot for the Main Street Electrical Parade, and my mom and I picked up one of my all time favorite snacks
A CHURRO!!!!
Churros were my first Disney snack love. They are pure cinnamon sugar goodness on a stick. When we were saving money for this trip, we would always measure the money we saved in terms of churros. Saved $4 on parking at the train station? Thats a churro! I highly recommend doing this when you are couponing and looking for bargains. Its great motivation to save $21 on a rental car and think, THATS A LOT OF CHURROS!
My mom picked up some popcorn for Kylie, as well, and we headed over to Main Street for MSEP!
I know there are a lot of SpectroMagic enthusiasts on the DisBoards, and I did love that parade, but Im actually obsessed with the Main Street Electrical Parade. I LOVE the music. The techno hoedown makes me happy. The lights are beautiful and so many classic Disney movies are represented.
Id love to be friends with the light-up fairies, and I kind of have a crush on the donkey boys.
But the main reason why I love this parade is because its the only place in the Disney parks where you can see PETE AND HIS DRAGON!!!!
Petes Dragon has been one of my favorite Disney movies forever. I have it on VHS and DVD. A lot of people who Ive told to watch it think its strange, and it definitely has its campy moments, but its such a great story and the music is incredible. So Im really happy Pete and Elliott are represented.
Then we went into the middle of Main Street to wait for the rest of the nightly entertainment.
We watched Celebrate the Magic, and I was happy to see Phineas and Ferb included!
Then we watched Wishes, which is my favorite Disney thing. Its Disney at its finest. Its inspirational and beautiful and just everything. Ill always love it and probably cry a billion tears if Disney ever changes it. (I promise, Wishes pictures are coming later in this trip. But we were all enjoying it in the moment and forgot to take out our cameras/phones!)
We then joined the mass exodus out of the park and got on the ferry, which was so crowded, and there were a ton of bugs on the walls, which was gross. I definitely prefer the monorail and its clean, highway-in-the-sky goodness.
We all passed out when we got back to the hotel. It was a long day. But we dont take days off, so we were off on another adventure tomorrow!
I bought this shirt:
And traded for these pins:
