Hurry Up, You Brats, or I'm Telling Mickey Mouse! An August 2013 TR THE END 1/18

I updated my ticker too! Booked 3 rooms at Pop for July 2014!

I love the Beach Club. I would love to stay there but we would have to skip a year to afford it, and I don't think anyone in the family would vote for that. And we just don't spend that much time in the room or even at the resort.

We finally did the Kitchen Sink! I say after every trip how we never made it over to Beaches & Cream. I liked the vanilla cake they threw on top. Luckily the place is not that big so I wasn't humiliated in front of too many people.

You know, you could do that PTR if you went home to see your poor mother every once in a while. Hahaha Mom guilt!

Yay on the new ticker! Man it feels so nice when you get a new one, doesn't it?

Love the bracelet!

Beaches and Cream is one of my absolute Disney favorites. Everything is always so good.

The Kitchen Sink! Nice!!!!! It's one of those things I think you try for the sake of trying. I am a fan of the No Way Jose. That's where my loyalties lie. :lmao:

Yes! It's a beautiful feeling, for sure.

Thank you :good vibes

It was delicious, and it's such an adorable place. I definitely want to try the No Way Jose next time, I love peanut butter and chocolate

Love the Beach Club pictures. We are hoping to stay there for the flower and garden festival next year. Wow that kitchen sink looks delicious and huge I think I would be in a food coma for the rest of the day for sure.

That would be amazing! I've done Flower and Garden twice, it's SO beautiful :flower3:

Yeah, it basically killed our desire for ice cream for the rest of the trip. There was so much!!

Ahh that's exciting Courtney. To currently have not 1 but 2 trips already set for the future must just be :cloud9:

I really love the Boardwalk area. It's such a great place to just stroll. :tiptoe:

Oh my goodness the Kitchen Sink. And you all finished it all. Wow, that is impressive. :worship:

It's a really great feeling, I am definitely a fortunate person!!

It is! A few years ago we went there and roamed around for a bit, and then we rented a surrey bike. It was so much fun!

Haha Dad, Mom, and Kylie crushed it. I had two bowls, but then I had to tap out. I never thought there would be such a thing as too much ice cream...

love your bracelet - very good job :thumbsup2

And excellent work finishing the kitchen sink! I think if I ever did that with a group, unless it was with like 10 people I would go and just get that - no lunch

Thank you!!!

Yeah, we all ate pretty light lunches in preparation. I think if we had one or two more people in our group it may have been better...but it was definitely a fun experience!

love reading your trip report! Thanks for the helpful tip on the interpreters and blocking the view - honestly, it's something I would hate to do on accident and even more so now that I know. :thumbsup2

Can't wait to read the rest!

Thank you so much for reading! :goodvibes

I'm glad I can pass along the tip. I'm definitely not perfect when it comes to Disney--it's so easy to get caught up in the excitement and not really be aware of your surroundings. But I definitely try to be more conscious of people with special needs now that we use the interpreters!

Yippppeeeee! One more trip for your ticker!!!! What a great 16th birthday celebration. All I got was a roller skating party. Yep, back in the day!!!

So onto your update..... I'm a big Beaches & Cream fan. Went there last trip as well. I ordered the grill cheese and this time I just didn't like all the funky cheeses. I loved it in February so maybe my tastes changed. :confused3

I love when they bring out the kitchen sink and everyone yells, A WHOLE CAN of WHIP CREAM? Fun stuff. Even funner to eat I'm sure. I'd be sick if I dug into that because where do you stop?? Oh, wait, at the bottom!! :rotfl2:

Love your map bracelet. Did you make that yourself? Very adorable.

So excited! Yep, this is going to blow my sweet 16 out of the water :rotfl2:

Love B&C, though that's unfortunate about your grilled cheese! I had a burger there once before and really liked it, but this time I had to go light to prepare myself for the Kitchen Sink.

Haha it was SO much fun. Everyone at the tables around us couldn't believe what we were getting ourselves into...it was great.

I did! I cut up the parts of the map I wanted to use, then used Modge Podge to put them on a plain bangle. I wish I had done more before they changed the maps!

I updated my ticker too! Booked 3 rooms at Pop for July 2014!

I love the Beach Club. I would love to stay there but we would have to skip a year to afford it, and I don't think anyone in the family would vote for that. And we just don't spend that much time in the room or even at the resort.

WOOOOOOOOO POP! :woohoo::cheer2::yay: Get me some of that tie-dye cheesecake.

Once Ky and/or I are cast members, we'll stay there! It'll be :cloud9:

We won't have time over Thanksgiving, but maybe we'll make it back in July. No Kitchen Sink for me this time, though...

Sorry!!! I'm busy working hard and getting knowledge. I do miss you a lot, though, and congrats on winning our Big Brother pool!

Chapter Seventeen: Tomorrow and Fantasy

We headed back to the Magic Kingdom and gave Mom’s birthday balloon to a little girl with a birthday button since we didn’t want to carry it around. MAKIN’ MAGIC OH YEAH.

Hello beautiful!

DSC00885_zpsb4948026.jpg

DSC00886_zpsfadf9d47.jpg

We got Fastpasses for Space Mountain and then went to check out the wait at the Princesses. We got in line because it was only a 20 minute wait, but then they made an announcement that the wait would be much longer. We were standing in one spot for a long time and not moving, so we decided to try again later. When we got out front, the wait had gone up to 50 minutes! Oof.

DSC00888_zps4383b3d1.jpg

We headed over to Tomorrowland to ride a relaxing classic, the PeopleMover.

DSC00892_zps9168089c.jpg

DSC00894_zpsdf75bc5c.jpg

When we got out there was actually a huge line! Apparently a kid had laid down on the ramp, causing the ride to stop while they made sure he was okay!

DSC00896_zps2e1cc16c.jpg

We needed an air-conditioned ride, so we went to the Carousel of Progress!

DSC00897_zpsdf3ccb9f.jpg

I love this ride. I feel most connected to Walt on this ride, and I just love the song and story. My dad, however, took this opportunity for a nap. I’m not kidding. He was out like an electric light. I was judging, but I still enjoyed the trip through the century.

My mom had remembered reading that the Dumbo Fastpass was not connected to the system, so we decided to see if that was true…and it was! So we got Fastpasses and checked out the Storybook Circus shop.

Proof:

DSC00900_zps0e31bb5b.jpg

A cast member gave Kylie this for free! Some people have all the luck…

DSC00898_zps90fe9edb.jpg

Then, we went over to one of my Fantasyland faves, Mickey’s Philharmagic! I remember reading years ago that Disney was considering a “Fantasy Flight” ride, where they used the technology of Soarin’ to make it seem like you were flying through Disney movies, and the magic carpet segment of Aladdin was a test for that. I personally think that would be an AMAZING ride, but I guess it never got off the ground (pun intended).

Our Dumbo FPs were ready by the time the show finished, so we went on a high-flying adventure!

DSC00903_zps67dc871c.jpg

DSC00905_zps14df7016.jpg

We thought the Dumbo who was “flyin’ solo” was too funny. JASON DERULO.

9616640550_4120d9a90c.jpg

Then, it was time for SPACE MOUNTAIN. It was fantastic, as always. We all took a nap in preparation for the night ahead.

DSC00910_zpseb0d00c9.jpg

After that, we headed over to see Dream Along with Mickey interpreted!

Chapter Eighteen: Join the Party, A Castle Party

While we were waiting, I made my personal photographer (Dad) take some castle photos of me.

DSC00911_zps2ca89e9f.jpg

DSC00913_zpsa746b2f7.jpg

I call this one "The Jess" as in Disneyfreak508.

DSC00916_zpsd0f56563.jpg

Guess what time it is…CASTLE SPAM TIME! I know, it's been almost a whole day at the Magic Kingdom and I had yet to take a billion pictures of the castle. I HAD FAILED.

I love Dream Along with Mickey, but I only manage to see it when it’s approximately the temperature of the surface of the sun outside. I’d love to watch it when I’m not sweating buckets.

Also, I'm not sure why Mickey always blinked when I took a photo of him. Oh well.

We ducked back into the Emporium to cool off before we headed to Adventureland! Kylie and Mom went to meet the fairies:

9616639976_91e934780c_z.jpg

Meanwhile, Dad and I went to one of my faves…the Enchanted Tiki Room!

DSC00939_zps979596c9.jpg

My love of the Enchanted Tiki Room is pretty new. One of the reasons why I love going back to Disney even though I’m older is because I have a much greater love and respect for the classic Disney attractions. When I was younger, I would blow right by the Tiki Room and Carousel of Progress to meet characters and ride Dumbo, which is a totally legit and fun way of doing Disney! But now I love riding those kinds of rides because it’s truly amazing to see what Walt and his colleagues were doing.

The Tiki Room was lovely as always. A man in front of me was recording it on his iPad, which I thought was pretty unnecessary. As much as I love the Tiki Room, I can’t imagine busting out my iPad to watch it at will. But do you, iPad videographer.

We then tried to get on Pirates of the Caribbean, but it was down. So we went to get Fastpasses for Big Thunder Mountain Railroad!

It was about dinner time, and literally all I wanted was Disney chicken nuggets. So we went to Columbia Harbour House, and I guess I had a good idea because everyone got nuggets!

DSC00940_zps02f5ff0b.jpg

They were delightful and we toasted my mother for being born and planning such a great trip for us. What a lady.

That is AWESOME!!!! :goodvibes

Oh my goodnes, I hope the kid was ok.

Ahh, nothing like carrying multiple fastpasses simultaneously.

Was that a cake pop kylie had?

"The Jess", haha cute.

Ahh it's so great that you have such an appreciation for the classics. I have to admit its been ages since I entered the Tiki Room. That must be fixed.

Hey Courtney. Love the Space Mountain photo! :upsidedow

That's great inel for the FP for Dumbo being disconnected from the rest of the system. :thumbsup2

How DO you get such great photos on People Mover? It goes too fast and jerks around and try as I might, I can never get a decent photo on their. I just want ONE castle shot from that angle. Oh well, I will enjoy your photos!!

Uhhh wasn't the ipad'er in the Tiki Room distracting with that thing?? I saw someone doing the same thing in Mickey's Philharmagic and since it is a dark attraction all eyes naturally gravitate to the source of light. :p

CHH must have great nuggets if you all ordered them!

Thanks! We are big advocates of giving away Fastpasses we're not going to use and such.

I hope so too!

It's fantastic. We used to do it a lot more before they started enforcing return times...messing with my system, but I understand!

Kylie had a marshmallow covered in sugar! Exactly what a kid in Disney World needs

The Tiki Room is just pure joy for me. Kylie HATES it because she thinks it's dumb and the song is annoying...but I love the music, and the birds, and it just makes me happy.

Thanks Brenda!! We try to entertain each other and others during the ride photos.

I know! My mom's full of surprise knowledge like that. It definitely helped a lot.

Thank you so much! I'm not a master photographer by any means. I kind of just start snapping pictures and hope for the best...those were the only two good ones, the rest were blurry or of trees!

It was definitely a little frustrating in the darkness! I don't know, to each their own, but as much as I love that show I can't see myself recording the Tiki Room and going back to watch it :confused3

They were delicious! Sometimes you just need Disney chicken nuggets.

Oh the people mover.... Love going on it. it's one of my favorite rides :cool1::cool1:

I love the PeopleMover so much! It's so relaxing, and always a good choice if it's crowded.

Fun day at MK so far! I love having multiple FPs...makes me feel like I have options lol

You got some good shots of the castle show! We watched it once a couple of years ago but it was a night showing so we didn't have the heat to contend with. The only daytime show that we really watch is the parade at AK...we skip everything else because it's just too hot to stand out there during the middle of the afternoon!

I can't wait to explore the Beach Club a bit when we visit it this year! Maybe we'll stay there someday!

Oof, 50 minutes to see the Princesses? That's a bit much for me. We are definitely not the kind to do long waits for characters.

Hahaha. So when you put that in there, I was totally thinking about the part in his songs when he's like "Jason Derulo!" Um, right, because artists feel they need to remind us that it's them singing.

iPad videographers. So annoying. Dude, your screen is big enough for me to see. PUT IT DOWN!

Joining in!!! :yay:

Love the TR so far and looking forward to the next update.

We are going to WDW in Jan to celebrate a sweet 16 b-day too. My niece will be 16 and all she wanted was to be at Disney for her big day. There will be 12 of us celebrating her day with her including her sister who will also be celebrating her 10th birthday while we are there. :dance3:

Loving all your pictures. :goodvibes

It's definitely awesome having more than one FP at once...the power!

Thank you! Yeah, shows are much more enjoyable when it's not brutally hot.

You should definitely check it out! It's such a beautiful resort, and it's my mom's dream resort so I really hope to stay there one day!

Yep, as much as I love Rapunzel, no way would I wait 50 minutes for her.

I know! I can't say I'm a huge fan of his, but apparently Dumbo doesn't mind...

For real, though. Is anyone going to go back and watch their iPad video of this stuff? Just use a regular tiny camera!

Joining in!!! :yay:

Welcome and thank you for joining in!!

That is so exciting! I went in January of this year and absolutely loved it, perfect weather and not too crowded at all! I hope you have so much fun :woohoo:

Chapter Nineteen: Celebrate A World Full of Magic

Then, it was time for us to get on the wildest ride in the wilderness! Kylie and I discovered we can recite the entire safety spiel by heart. Disney nerd problems.

DSC00943_zps649ffe0b.jpg

DSC00941_zpsd3ebfd65.jpg

DSC00942_zpsc3bae99d.jpg

BTMRR is my least favorite of the three mountains, but it’s Mom and Ky’s favorite ride, so I love it because they love it.

We then decided to check out Pirates, and it was up and running! Unfortunately, I made the mistake of wishing George a good evening. If you know who George is, you know where this is going. If you don’t…either Google it or live in your peaceful ignorance! You’re probably better off.

We went over the first drop and we got absolutely DRENCHED. It was worse than I’ve ever gotten on Splash Mountain! Our feet were absolutely soaked and I hadn’t even thought to put my phone in a plastic bag! (Luckily, it was okay.)

Then, we were backed up in bumper-to-bumper traffic from pretty much the second room, which made for a slow, bumpy ride through the Caribbean.

There was a little boy who was standing up behind us and pinching my mom. His sister said, “Why is he standing? Shouldn’t he sit?” and the mom said he would be fine. The little girl said, “But what if he falls out?” Safe-D begins with her!

Then, my dad and sister went to go get a spot for the Main Street Electrical Parade, and my mom and I picked up one of my all time favorite snacks…A CHURRO!!!!

DSC00944_zps94c1965a.jpg

Churros were my first Disney snack love. They are pure cinnamon sugar goodness on a stick. When we were saving money for this trip, we would always measure the money we saved in terms of churros. Saved $4 on parking at the train station? That’s a churro! I highly recommend doing this when you are couponing and looking for bargains. It’s great motivation to save $21 on a rental car and think, “THAT’S A LOT OF CHURROS!”

My mom picked up some popcorn for Kylie, as well, and we headed over to Main Street for MSEP!

9616639722_c1eef1dce9_z.jpg

I know there are a lot of SpectroMagic enthusiasts on the DisBoards, and I did love that parade, but I’m actually obsessed with the Main Street Electrical Parade. I LOVE the music. The techno hoedown makes me happy. The lights are beautiful and so many classic Disney movies are represented.

I’d love to be friends with the light-up fairies, and I kind of have a crush on the donkey boys.

But the main reason why I love this parade is because it’s the only place in the Disney parks where you can see PETE AND HIS DRAGON!!!!

9613403349_368ed2082a_z.jpg

Pete’s Dragon has been one of my favorite Disney movies forever. I have it on VHS and DVD. A lot of people who I’ve told to watch it think it’s strange, and it definitely has its campy moments, but it’s such a great story and the music is incredible. So I’m really happy Pete and Elliott are represented.

9616639214_4fccb0728c_z.jpg

Then we went into the middle of Main Street to wait for the rest of the nightly entertainment.

9613402813_ee11ca08be_z.jpg

We watched Celebrate the Magic, and I was happy to see Phineas and Ferb included!

9613402575_ea98460e09_z.jpg

Then we watched Wishes, which is my favorite Disney thing. It’s Disney at its finest. It’s inspirational and beautiful and just everything. I’ll always love it and probably cry a billion tears if Disney ever changes it. (I promise, Wishes pictures are coming later in this trip. But we were all enjoying it in the moment and forgot to take out our cameras/phones!)

We then joined the mass exodus out of the park and got on the ferry, which was so crowded, and there were a ton of bugs on the walls, which was gross. I definitely prefer the monorail and its clean, highway-in-the-sky goodness.

We all passed out when we got back to the hotel. It was a long day. But we don’t take days off, so we were off on another adventure tomorrow!

I bought this shirt:

And traded for these pins:

Pirates is so random when you get wet and when you don't. I got soaked on Pirates in Disneyland. I was extremely miffed. :rotfl2:

That little girl was very smart. Be safe people! No standing up on rides. ;)

I can't say I could use that logic with Churros......but I may use it for margaritas.....mmmmmmm.......

Hey hey! I'm totally on board with MSEP! Everyone else mourns the loss of Spectro. But this is the original people! That's why I love it so much. It was the first one I saw when I was a wee one. So I nearly pooped a brick when they brought it back. :rotfl2: Plus....I mean come on, who doesn't love Elliott?

Well thanks to you I just learned something new. Never heard of George on the POTC before today but now I know all about him. :)

I agree Courtney that BTMRR is the least thrilling of the mountains without a doubt. BUT, I will add that riding it at night when it's dark really makes a huge difference.

Haha, I think the fault of your Pirates ride must be someone else since you were polite to George and not mocking. Clearly someone in your group was a non believer. That said, WOW, you got soaked!!?? I don't think I've ever even gotten a drop on me before.

Ugh, some parents just make me sad. Disney should have a "No Standing" sign I think since all they have now is "No Dancing". :rotfl:

Yeah, count me as a Spectro lover. And this is coming from someone who grew up with MSEP. Don't get me wrong, I adore it and love the inclusion of Pete and especially Elliott, but yeah, I will miss Spectro. RIP!

Wishes. :sad1:  :cloud9: :)

Love that MK shirt that you got - it was a great choice.

Call me old-fashioned, but I am going to miss the paper fastpasses. I like to have a few for the scrapbook. Plus I won't be able to remember what time to go back to the ride for my FP+. But I guess that's why I have kids!

Churros, churros, churros. The best money-saving incentive we had. We got a little messed up when they raised the price of a churro in the middle of the vacation.

Those matching shirts are still making me tear up!

You got some great castle pics at Dream Along with Mickey. Especially since it was like 250 degrees standing out there. OMG it was brutal.

Miss you!

I know! Sometimes it's just a drop, and other times your socks get soaked and you have regrets. But not too many, because Pirates is great.

I really wanted to tell her parents how smart she was, but that would have implied that the son was misbehaving...so I left it alone. I just internally commended her :cheer2:

Definitely use it for margaritas. Any good Disney snack/beverage, really! It's some great motivation.

Ahh I am so happy you love MSEP! It's my favorite. And Elliott is precious.

Well thanks to you I just learned something new. Never heard of George on the POTC before today but now I know all about him. :)

Some scary stuff there! I only found out about him in the past year...now I know to just leave him alone. I definitely believe.

I agree! BTMRR during evening EMH is just fantastic.

You're right, there must have been a nonbeliever among us! Yeah, I normally never get wet on Pirates, but we were drenched  totally unexpected.

Haha I agree!! I mean, the kid wasn't dancing, so he must have seen that and assumed he was obeying all the rules.

I did enjoy Spectro, but I love me some techno hoedown.

WISHES!! I'm glad I was able to just enjoy the moment without snapping a ton of pictures, BUT I did see it again so more pictures will be coming soon!

Cute pics! :)

Thank you so much!

I love the MSEP and am also very happy that it is back:cool1::cool1:. Awesome pictures. Pirates YEAH

Me too! It's got so much great classic Disney.

Thank you!

I love Pirates. It's a pretty new love, I used to think it was okay when I was little but in the past few years I've grown to love it.

Love that MK shirt that you got - it was a great choice.

Thanks Mom! I'm glad I got it too.

Hehe you just reminded me of Roz saying "Call me sentimental, but I still miss the screaming." Though you are far prettier than Roz, obviously princess: I know, we will just have to make a schedule and put it in the trip folder!

They had churros in the school cafeteria the other day. They were good, but not warm, and I wasn't eating them in Disney so they lacked the pixie dust.

Yeah, we can be pretty cute sometimes!

Thank you! It was so, so hot but I still enjoy it, though not on the level Kylie does :rotfl:

I miss you too!
