"Hurry & fly away to Neverland before it's too late!" Trip wrap up page 30

I know what swaps you are talking about ;)
I'm making a list of swaps I have and bringing it with me.

I'm having the same problem with Zach taking photos.
In order for Zach to take photos with the characters or something I want, I have to promise to buy him something at the end of the day.
I think the little bugger is gonna be a bookie when he gets older :lmao:
If you borrow $5.00 from him, you have to give him $10 back and I'm not kidding LOL.
If you don't want to pay the interest then don't borrow the money, that's what he tells you.
If I want him to take a photo, he says whats in it for me. I used to say "breathing". but he caught on to that one. :rolleyes1

Knowing I am a scrapbooker he holds it over my head. What a smart kid  So glad I only have one or I'd be broke :rotfl2:

I thought I was behind on your posts glad I'm not. Now that I have time to read more bring them on baby LOL

I do believe he does have a future in the banking business or loan shark. He's a smart little guy.

After these pictures I could mark two swaps off my list. The first swap I ever did with you had Daisy in it. Finally on this trip we met Daisy. Later in the trip I'm able to mark another one off, but you'll have to wait to find out.

I made me way over! I don't have time to catch up now (just bought a Wii today!), but I'll catch up when I can!

I wonder what Mike (a retired cop) would think about his baby growing up to be laon shark LOL
Hey I thought a banker and loan shark were the same thing :rotfl: (jk)

We met Daisy twice last year once in her pink outift (thanksgiving morning) and then again in Tursker house in her jungle gear.

Glad the girls kept up with you on your FP dash, hope Baylies feet survive though!

Love the character photos and so glad you can now scrap the King Louie and Baloo photo :thumbsup2

Only 2.5 weeks till me trip :yay:

We love the Wii. My son has one, when he come to visit he brings it. We have the funniest pictures of everyone playing. Thanks for coming over and catch up when you can.

Can't wait to hear about the rest of your trip.

Thanks for reading along.

Ew...that bat! Cool and icky at the same time. :rotfl2:

Icky and fascinating!

I don't think Mike would mind a Banker.

I like her in the Pink outfit.

More on here feet later.

I'm so glad we did the photopass and I "twisted her arm" to take the picture.

Only 2.5 weeks till me trip :yay:

You're so lucky. Two trips to look forward too! I hope you have a Magical Time.:wizard:

Just found you. :cool1: We where at pop some of the same dates as you. We where there from June24-July 1st. Can not wait to read more :earsboy:

I'm so glad you found us. :welcome: You'll have to look to see if you're in any of our pictures. What parks where you in on what days? We'll have to compare notes.

Anyone doing anything interesting tomorrow? I think we're going to drive down to New Orleans and go to the Audubon Zoo and the new Insectarium. Sounds fun huh? I love the zoo but could skip the Insectarium, DH really wants to go. Bugs Yuk! Should make for some interesting pictures.

Back home and all caught up.:thumbsup2 You got some amazing close up shots of the AK opening ceremony and the critters on the Maharaja Jungle Trek. I keep eyeing new lenses for my camera with better telephoto capabilites, but my darn budget keeps telling me no.:headache: I don't mind the bats but the Kimodo Dragon? *Insert shivering smilie here* My kids all would have freaked about meeting Flik! The girls used to watch A Bugs Life all the time. Plus, he looks all velvety and soft.

Ok. I just read your whole TR!!!! Sounds like you had quite the adventure your first day! I don't know what I would do if my plans got off course. My DH lets me do all the planning and then just goes along with it. Of course, we have to stop and let Madison pick something to do too. I can't wait to read more!

The pictures were taken with by out-of-date Cannon S2. It does okay most of the time. Still can't get good fireworks of Spectro pictures. This was the first time we caught the bats eating. It was so neat. The dragon was for Dennis he loves it. I wish Danielle had taken a picture with Flik. She took a pictures on her first trip with Princess Atta.

I'm so glad people understand about the trip planning and control thing. My family just doesn't get it. I'm sure you're like me and your planning includes things everyone would enjoy.

I'm hoping to get some more posted around Thursday. Danielle has a project due tomorrow for Science and one on Friday for Social Studies and dance on Wednesday.

So when I left off we were headed to Asia to use our FPs for Everest. This is Danielle's newest favorite ride. I really like it too. For Bailey it's a first. But like I've said before she is game to try anything. The FPs line was moving fast but I made the girls stop for this picture.

The ride of course was great but the fact that I had a lite breakfast hit me hard after we went backwards. I have issues with round and round but roller coasters don't bother me at all. I guess the heat was getting to me too. When we got off I couldn't get into the fresh air fast enough. The girls wanted to stop and take a red-neck picture of the ride but I rushed them out the door. I needed a cool drink and I needed one fast. We found some water and had a nice chat with the CM at the cart. Once I was feeling better we headed back to Africa to meet up with Tena. She was in a real nice and cool smoking area. It was very shaded and had the misting fans.

It was still too early to use our FPs for the Safaris so we sat at the outside tables of the Dawa Bar and caught some of the entertainment. It was so good. I didn't get a chance to get pictures because I spent most of the time running back and forth getting Mickey Bars for everyone but me. They kept losing their sticks, so I brought them back for new ones. What a mess! Luckily the ever prepared Disney nerd had babywipes for cleaning up. Just because I don't have little ones anymore doesn't mean I can stop carrying the wipes. Looking at my receipt this was about 11. The girls also got their pennies pressed.

It was finally time for our FPs so we jumped in line. The was one ride Tena was looking forward to doing. I sat her and Bailey all the way to the left. I've ridden it many times so it wasn't a must do to get the best pictures. This ended up being a very different trip for us.

Things were going along pretty normal until we hit the giraffe area. All the sudden we were held up. The jeep in front of us was stopped due to 2 giraffes being stopped in the middle of the road. We waiting a few minutes and they moved. This has never really happened to me, but lately I have read a few report with this happening. So we traveled a little further, when we hit the rhino area we were stopped again. A rhino had planted himself in the road, well his rear quarters were parked there.
This is the crew that came out to try and get him to move.

Here are the other rhinos watching the excitement.

And here is the stubborn rhino.

Here's what he looked like when we were finally able to go around him.

Random picture of an ostrich.

Have you ever gotten a bad call while in Disney? Well I did while on the Safaris. My phone rang and I didn't recognize the number. Being the worried parent I took the call. It was my doctor's office. I had gone for my yearly check up and mammogram the week before. Well, they needed me to come back in for a more detailed mammogram on my right side. I have never gotten this call so I was very concerned. Of course she said it was probably nothing to worry about and just enjoy my vacation. I did set an appointment for the day after our return. So, how do you turn that off and "just enjoy your vacation"? Needless to say I wasn't in the best frame of mind when we got off. But don't worry about me. Nothing showed up on my return visit for the mammogram.

When we got off we went to do some shopping at Mombasa Marketplace. Dennis loves Animal Kingdom and really wanted a new shirt, only he's very picky about what kind of shirt he likes. Tena was looking for something for her husband Billy. Don't you thing AK's shop just shout men's stuff? I didn't find anything for Dennis but I did find a bracelet for Michelle. After all it was her birthday so we had to buy her something. I don't have a picture of it and she isn't living here right now so I can't take a picture. She moved out August 1st, but she's moving back by the end of this month. I gave her 6 months, looks like I lost that bet. Tena bought Billy a shirt and a hat. We filled out the paperwork to have our stuff sent back to Pop. I love being able to do that. Danielle did some hard looking, the next time we would be here it would be her birthday and she would have the gift card to spend. She was really eying the drums. I reminded her it would have to be small to fit in the suitcase. I also called Dennis to share my call with him. Tena and the girls had no idea of the call.

Continued in the next post.

Reports are turning out great but why you keep having me wait LOL

PS. Glad it turned out to be nothing.
Been there done that with my mom 2008. She got her official your Cancer is gone in January 2009 just in time for her Birthday.

By now it was about 12:30 and time for some lunch. Since we were already on that side of the park I suggested Pizzafair, it would also get us out of the heat. When we got there it was pretty full, but there wasn't a very long line. We sent the girls to stake us out a table while we stood in line. Right off the bat we noticed it was rather warm. After standing in line for a while it became apparent the air wasn't working. Since we were almost up to order I didn't suggest leaving. We ordered and went to meet the girls. As soon as we sat down Tena started complaining and didn't stop. I said I was sorry, I had no way to know that the air would be out. She complained and complained. I told her to drop it. Bailey told her to drop it . Danielle at this point had had enough of Aunt Tena and told her she was a "fun sucker". I tried to correct her and smooth things over. Tena kept complaining and finally I hit my limit. I told her that was enough and to drop it. She could tell I was losing it and came back with she had learned a long time ago she had to voice her opinion and not let things go. I came back with yes everyone has a right to voice her opinion but she didn't know when to stop and she was sucking the life out of me. And maybe, just maybe at this point my voice was a little too raised, but guess what? She shut up. I can't say I enjoyed my meal due to the heat and her complaining, but it did feel good to explode a little.

After we ate we headed out but stopped so Bailey could meet Lilo and Stitch. We got in line to wait. While we waited the girls played around with the picture area at the DVC stand.

While we waited the line just wasn't moving. Finally we called it quits and headed out of the park. Luckily the Pop stop isn't way far away like at Epcot. Tena was still sipping on her lemonade when we got on the bus. Now on the way to the park we didn't stop, but on the way back we had to stop at Blizzard Beach. As was typical Tena and I were sitting near the front and the girls were in the back. Tena had taken the seat right next to the wheel where there is a raised area. She put her drink on the raised area and held onto it. Everyone knows you're not suppose to eat or drink on the bus but lots of people do it. I try not to, but Tena has her own set of rules. We were tired and hot and couldn't wait to get back for our resort. We did okay until we had to stop at BB. Sometime after that we got drowsy. When I looked over at Tena she was almost out and I wasn't far behind her. At some point she must have gone out and so did I. The next thing I knew we were both jumping up because something cold and wet had hit our bottoms:scared1:. Yep she had let go of her drink and it had spilled on us. We laughed so hard! It wasn't nice to be wet but were almost home by this point. After that ride it was ruled she wasn't allowed to bring drinks on the bus unless they had a top. In her defense she said she would have made it back if we hadn't had to stop at BB. Of course at AK all the drinks in cups have no lids or straws. Once we were back it was time for a rest, but first I needed a bath and change of clothes. Lemonade can be very sticky.

We all laid down to rest. Once again the girls didn't fall asleep, I took about a 30 minute rest and Tena snored away. When I got up the girls changed into their suits and I gathered a load of whites. At the rate I was going through my underthings I needed to wash. The girls swam and played in the water while I did laundry.

Up next our afternoon at DHS and the most funnest meal of our trip!

Reports are turning out great but why you keep having me wait LOL

I'm sorry the last two week have been real busy. I'm going to try and finish this day over the weekend. Thanks for keeping with me.

PS. Glad it turned out to be nothing.

I'm so glad Mom is okay! After my little scare I can't imagine how hard going through it can be.

Hi! I'm a little late signing on, and I'm usually more of a lurker, but your trip sounds so much like the one we had just a few weeks ago that I needed to comment. I went to Disney with my mom, sister and my aunt. It seems that my aunt and your sister are quite similar and I found myself in Danielle's position quite often, so I really sympathize with your daughter. It's hard to go to Disney with someone who has different attitudes and views.....and as much as we love her, she just doesn't understand that sometimes you just need to keep up with me, or stay where I want you to, or meet me where and when I say.....or that there's no time for a smoke break, we need to get to TSM!
Sorry, done ranting, but I just wanted to let you know that your daughter is not alone in having a fun sucking aunt!

:welcome: And thanks for reading along and posting. I was real worried that no one would want to read about a trip that wasn't always Magical. You have hit the nail on the head with your description. I love my sister and I'm so glad she and Bailey finally got to go, but we really had our bumps. Our night was much better than our day. Unfortunately things only get worse between Danielle and Tena. She never saw anything wrong she was just picking, but Danielle did not like it one bit. At one point I have to physically restrain her from attacking Tena.
