Hurricane Matthew Closes WDW - Reopens Saturday, October 8th

First time I saw the springs, first thing I said was all I want to do is get in it!

Lines at the restaurants are already incredibly long and the rain is starting to pick up. If you aren't here already and don't have a reservation, I'd say skip it. Only going to get worse.

There have been some reports ADRs are not be honored. First come first serve.

Anyone here heard if Chef Mickey's is operating dinner with characters and/or honoring ADR's- friend in town can't get an answer.

Being stuck at disney isn't horrible but of course the extra cost not only staying but getting yourself back home will be too much for some..

Very nice post!! Saw some unnecessary comments earlier from some saying if you can't afford an emergency in Disney then you should not go. Your post is in the spirit!!! Some people save and save for these trips and unexpected room nights, expensive meals, unexpected car rentals etc create a lot of stress. Thanks for this post!!

Totally agree. The lines and crowds are crazy. Luckily we are with my sister who has an 8 passenger SUV. We are heading off property. It is NUTS here.

Edit: with another friend and told a 2 1/2 hour wait for Splitsville.

The voicemail AKL left earlier said that we could only eat here or at Disney Springs. Resort restaraunts are only available to people staying there tonight regardless of whether or not you have a reservation.

We are at the Beach Club and have a reservation for Sanaa tonight. We have made 2 trips to the front desk and we were assured from Disney "back room operations" that if we have a reservation, it will be honoured. We are going to give it a try so cross your fingers for us.

Breakfast, lunch, and dinner available to Royal Pacific guests in buffet lines set up in a meeting room. There's also a Hospitality Room.

The issue, I believe, was the floor to ceiling glass at Islands. As far as I know everything else was and is open at the resorts. Only thing closed yesterday are the pool bars. Citywalk reopens tomorrow as well.

Gotcha! We didn't royal pacific last night. We all ate at jakes. Emeril was open too. I know the Kitchen at HRH was. Anyway, thanks for all the helpful info you provide. Definitely appreciated and not trying to start an argument at all. My side of the boards are the USO forums. Sure hope your property in St Auggie is ok. I've got family in Jax, Orlando and good friends in Palm coast, Ocala, Boca Raton and Gainesville so I've been watching the coverage.

Things are good here at AoA. They had Jessie, a couple of Green Army men, Chip and Rafaki doing meet and greets in the lobby.

They were showing the new Jungle Book movie and all the arcade games were free! They were also cleaning up the big blue pool.

That was a few hours ago - I'm a mean mom and I'm making my kid finish her homework before we do anything else.
