Hurricane Matthew Closes WDW - Reopens Saturday, October 8th

I'm not up on dining options. We will now have a table service credit left. What are the places I can use that at Disney springs?

scroll up, someone posted a photo of what is opened.. Before you go, don't forget that 1 tables/counter service = 3 snacks if you want to "convert" it and fill up your suitcase with disney treats to bring home. You don't actualyl convert you just tell them that you want to do the 3 snacks for 1 meal thing.

I saw the list just didn't know what was all table service vs counter service besides Earl

Disney snacks have no room in my bags to come home. I usually end up giving them to someone else

I posted this in this forum because while it fits better in the food one, more people will see it here. It would be nice if mods can leave it until after the weekend for those that need a little extra help right now.

One of my favorite things to do with unused meal plan credits was to invite a family that obviously spent their savings to come to disney to join us for a great meal they would normally not be able to do with my extra credits that I am not going to be able to use.. Now with the closure and impact on travel due to hurricane mathew, this is the time where some people suddenly also have to find the money for the extra days and travel back home..

I am not on the meal plan so sorry to say I can't spread some pixie dust but if you are in a spot and need food help or find yourself with credits you can't use, lets get a thread started to try to connect everyone together to spread around the disboards good neighbor love to those that need a hand right now.

edit: I do however have a TiW card and wouldn't mind eating out a couple times if anyone thinks that will help them get through the extra stay. (20% off). Also the new AP discoutn (20% many places including some counters like pecos bill) I will be around the parks, especially MK on sunday for the last night of MSEP. (my daughter would also be around so with her card we can get 18 more people on the discount).

So dumb question but I've seen long lines for the dining/tickets concierge desk here at CBR since yesterday. What would the guests be on line for-changes in reservations? I extended my stay over the phone. Just wondering

You got lucky. I've been on hold an hour trying to confirm I have a room tonight

just curious,, IF the box lunches were not a normal item. where the heck did they get all those boxes?
also, interesting how different offerings for the boxed lunches change from resort to resort. I know some had great ones & there was some bad "whitebread" ones. I missed where those "poor" boxes were from.. anyone remember? all from one resort?

& staying in rooms, seemed to be different from resort to resort. the poly told guests to stay in rooms, but yet at the contemporary we see pictures of guests with characters playing around NEAR GLASS DOORS *EGAD* where this was one comment that the "stay in your room" was a safety to guests to stay away from glass windows.. *sigh*

If anyone finds themselves having trouble making ends meet being stuck at disney longer and others have extra meal credits they can't use, please check out http://www.disboards.com/threads/have-need-pixie-dust-meal-plan-credits-due-to-hurricane.3552809/ and lets see if we can connect people together to help out.. Being stuck at disney isn't horrible but of course the extra cost not only staying but getting yourself back home will be too much for some..

Please join in if you have extra/need a hand with food.... (meal plan credits)

EDIT TO ADD: A moderator thought it would be a good idea to merge it into this thread so nobody could find it.. I guess if you need help or have help to give post it in this thread now.

YUP, DS was telling DH that story last night.

Now for a fake story, my friend at MK ............. one of the most common questions when wet weather ............. when will Disney put up the dome?

Years ago I met some one who worked on the annual Disney company audit. One of the things auditors do is evaluate the reserve for litigation. Someone had filed suit wanting reimbursement for their vacation and a lot of pain and suffering because it was ruined by weather. They said WDW should have known Florida weather could be bad and built the entire park under cover (aka the dome)

Lawsuit was not considered a liability

Sounds like before anyone travels to another resort tonight for a TS meal they check first to see if
- They are serving
- They are serving anyone other than that hotel's guests
- They are honoring ADRs (I imagine all these open will have long walk up lines)

Would hate to put the travel effort in for no reason when I could have eaten at my resort or Disney Springs.

The voicemail AKL left earlier said that we could only eat here or at Disney Springs. Resort restaraunts are only available to people staying there tonight regardless of whether or not you have a reservation.

I know not Disney but for any who were/going to move over to Universal - has been working some food issues out too ...

Breakfast, lunch, and dinner available to Royal Pacific guests in buffet lines set up in a meeting room. There's also a Hospitality Room.

Thank you, this is what I have seen reported several times - hoping to save folks some wasted time.

I brought home about six bags worth of Goofy Candy Co. stuff when the fiancee and I had an extra meal each leftover on our last trip.

Lines at the restaurants are already incredibly long and the rain is starting to pick up. If you aren't here already and don't have a reservation, I'd say skip it. Only going to get worse.

I am glad everyone is getting a chance to get out tonight. Also think it is cool how Disney sent some characters over for the kids and some entertainment for them as well. Hoping all is well for us next week. we fly in Tuesday early afternoon and leave Friday. Hope we don't have that hurricane make the loop and hit us, but I can think of worse places to be stranded:)
