Hurricane Matthew Closes WDW - Reopens Saturday, October 8th

Sorry :( It said domestic locations in the paper and listed Delta, American, United and JetBlue.

My friend is a FA with AA and is on each in FLL said "what hurricane?"
No idea where they got their information but AA only has Caribbean and Bahama alerts.

Since we can't go any earlier than our Friday afternoon flight, I'm left to just hope for the best. If Friday evening gets cancelled, then we might not even be able to get on a Saturday flight if they're all full. It'll be a drag....but there's nothing to be done except to bite the bullet and drive through the night Friday night which makes me just want to puke.

Do you think they'd offer tickets for Friday (if storm gone) or Sunday? We are just there for the weekend, solely for mnsshp!

If tickets are available for Friday or Sunday then you can purchase them when you get your refund. If they're already sold out, I doubt they'll make more space available.

Over 100 calls on hold with AA according to the CSR I'm now speaking with. I was able to get my flights changed... we'll be in Orlando tomorrow!

CM announcement on the HUB

Walt Disney World Resort is operating under normal conditions as we continue to monitor Hurricane Matthew.

Recent forecasts indicate that there could be rain and wind in the Central Florida area as early as Thursday evening. We will continue to provide updates as the situation evolves.

Please also continue to monitor news outlets for the latest weather information

I called Disney at noon and added tomorrow night, just figured it was worth the gamble to have the room and pay for it if I don't need it than need it and them be booked by the time Southwest let me change...

They've updated their website now so boy am I glad I checked when I did because I am sure the pickings are going to be slim as the night progresses!

Are you flying out of PHL? It sounds like we're on the same flight

Our flights are now changed. We arrive tomorrow night... and it's EMH at MK. I know where we'll be!

Urgh, got a call from the agent doing my change. His computer froze during the last step of the process and he lost one of our flights on Wednesday night. So we are now on Thursday morning. The earlier flight tomorrow was simply impossible. In the long run, provided the storm doesn't get there Thursday morning, it's a better change for us. I wish it didn't feel like such a gamble.

No, flying out of Chattanooga but may have been trying to make the same connection in Charlotte. Unfortunately, it sold out right in the middle of me making the change. So we are back to Thursday morning now

Has anyone consider moving / postponing their trip? Seems like so much could happen with park closing and things like that

Wish I was going to Disney. Sitting here on the east coast of NC watching this monster coming our way. Ugh.
Whether traveling or staying home, everyone on the east coast be safe!

Edited: What a difference a couple of days makes. I know those outside of the Disney gates need just as much (if not more) prayers and support as anyone in the path of this storm, but I'd be lying if I didn't admit WDW is tugging at my heart especially hard during this time. There's something so sad about seeing that place in harm's way like this.

Seriously though, everyone who is at WDW, or anywhere that Matthew will be affecting, please stay safe and my prayers are with you all.
