DSC04722.jpg

Hi Dawn! I definitely think that Jay will want to try the Tuna Oscar if it's available that night so it's good to hear that it's tasty. As for me ... just keep filling my pineapple with heaven and I'll be fine! :rotfl2:

Mmmmm, that's good squishees! And you look fabulous! :thumbsup2

BTW, I haven't made it very far through your TR yet but I did want you to know that it's on my radar. :goodvibes

Great line-up Brenda! We're trying some of those places for the first time in November so I'll be excited to read what your experiences are like.:goodvibes

Thank Kathy! I'm sure I'll have everything posted sometime in March 2009 so you'll have your own reviews posted before me most likely! :lmao:

Brenda - I am so glad you're going to the F&W festival. That is on my to do list on of these days when it's just me and the hubby. My DH does work for a woman (he's a carpenter) that goes every year with her DD and I was talking Disney on the phone to her about the F&W and she says we should definately go. I said I know I read Brenda's TR (this of course I said to myself)

Other places we're going to try to fit in on top of the F&W booths at Epcot:

Earl of Sandwich, Yak and Yeti, The Fountain, Wolfgang Puck Express, and Chef Mickey's (breakfast).

Let me know what you think and if you have any suggestions.

Thanks!

Bendy :goodvibes

Ahhhhhh:cloud9: Please think of me when you either try that Caribbean Jerk Chicken sandwich or when you just read it off the menu board. :cloud9:

Your October line-up gets :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2! However, I'm jealous of you for several reasons: #1 You are going during F&W and #2 You are dining at V&As....again! :p (That smilie is me sticking my tongue out at you.)

We are eating at a bunch of the same place on our next trip. Citricos & Yachtsman are new ones for us, too. Boma and bluezoo are good times! You'll lurv them! :goodvibes

Hiya friends and food lovers! :goodvibes

Today I bit the bullet and gave the F&W Festival the virtual middle finger. I am tired of waiting for them to lift the veil of secrecy so that we can finalize our plans, so after much fuming and a little discussion with my lovey I made the following dining reservations:

October 8th: Dinner at Kona Cafe - a new experience that I fully expect to be enhanced by the consumption of the famed Lapu Lapu.

October 9th: Dinner at California Grill - an oldie but goodie ... bring on the foie gras...and cheese plate...and sushi...and polenta...and ... :rolleyes1

October 10th: Breakfast at Boma - another new experience thanks to many positive endorsements from my fellow DISers. I expect to have much fun with the word "frunch" during the meal.

October 11th: Dinner at Raglan Road ... another favorite venue and we have a $50 GC to burn through. Bring on the alcohol!!!

October 12th: Dinner at Yachtsman Steakhouse ... mmmmm, a meaty, new restaurant for us to sink our dining chops into.

October 13th: Dinner at Victoria & Albert's ... cue celestial choir. :cloud9:

October 14th: Lunch at Rose & Crown ... another favorite that we haven't visited in a few years. Besides ... it's part of our top secret plan for the day. Stay tuned for exciting details!

October 15th: Dinner at Blue Zoo ... a new restaurant for us and we're meeting BriarRosie and TinkRules for dinner there as well! This should be a most interesting evening ... Todd English should be trembling in his personalized boots!

October 16th: Dinner at Citricos ... yet another new venue for the two Stinktown pigs that are Jay and me!

Other places we're going to try to fit in on top of the F&W booths at Epcot:

Earl of Sandwich, Yak and Yeti, The Fountain, Wolfgang Puck Express, and Chef Mickey's (breakfast).

At this time we're only thinking of booking two potential F&W events: a pairing in France and a pairing in Italy. Of course that could change once the program details are released, but right now we're not planning on many special events this year.

Let me know what you think and if you have any suggestions.

Thanks!

Bendy :goodvibes

Hey Brenda -
Just saw all this. We are doing the some of the same on opposite days. Just got V&A for 10/6, will be interested to see how different our menus are! We actually have 4 reservations for Flying Fish.. we are pathetic! Maybe we can say hello at a booth or a BAR! ;)

Have loved all the Vegas reviews and cheese tastings by the way! Thanks for all the updates!

I can't wait for you to come back and share your reviews! I'm looking foward to them as much as my trip, (well almost that much. ;) )

Ohhhhh... I can see it now....

I'm gonna be handin out little pills left and right...

(Bendy...your sitting on the left and Shell's on the right?)

Ooooooh, September hey? Care to share your dining plans with the rest of us so that we can all drool together? :goodvibes

Well, ok!

I arrive at Thursday morning the 4th at 7:30 am on the red eye from Seattle. After checking in at the Caribbean Beach, I'll head straight to-

Kona Cafe for breakfast and revival via press pot Kona coffee

My traditional first night dinner is usually the California Grill with
fireworks accompaniment, but this time I'm trying a new deliciousness -

Blue Zoo :fish: :fish:

Friday it's an Animal Kingdom theme with Flame Tree Barbecue for lunch and Jiko for dinner. Cheese plate here I come!

Saturday is a classic Magic Kingdom experience featuring pre park opening Crystal Palace Breakfast and California Grill and the aforementioned fireworks at the end of the day.

Sunday is hopefully Beaches and Cream time for deep ice cream bliss.
Back to Jiko for dinner (this may change, but I love it so much twice seems reasonable).

Monday Hollywood calls with Prime Time Cafe for lunch followed by Flying Fish for dinner.

Tuesday I move to the Polynesian and will do another early morning at the Crystal Palace. No set dinner plans because it's MNSSHP night. I probably will have CS at Columbia Harbor House or Cosmic Ray's.

Wednesday features Dining with an Imagineer at the Brown Derby for lunch.
Wednesday is usually Hula night at the Polynesian in the lounge, so I'll hang out at the resort in the evening for lovely music and dance, and then have a late dinner at the Kona Cafe after fireworks on the beach.

Thursday I will try not to eat very much all day before going to Boma for dinner.

Friday our friends to the north beckon with lunch at Le Cellier. Possibility of a second MNSSHP (I just love the parties) so no dinner plans yet.

Sunday will be my traditional day before departure day plan, early morning Crystal Palace and California Grill and fireworks again.

I also hope to raid Goofy's Candy Shop and graze the World Showcase.

Having just consumed about a million mental calories, it's time to hit the gym!

Hi Laura! I really do hope you and your DH get to visit WDW during F&W some time ... it's a lovely experience and I'm sure you'd both really enjoy it.

And you just cracked me up ... "I read Brenda's TR ..." :rotfl2:

that's the nicest thing anyone's said to me all day. :goodvibes

Ahhhhhh:cloud9: Please think of me when you either try that Caribbean Jerk Chicken sandwich or when you just read it off the menu board. :cloud9:

Jay might eat that sandwich but it's too spicy for me. I'll be looking for a nice tuna fish sandwich and if I don't get one I'm gonna throw a tantrum until Jay pours booze down my throat. :lmao:

Your October line-up gets :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2! However, I'm jealous of you for several reasons: #1 You are going during F&W and #2 You are dining at V&As....again! :p (That smilie is me sticking my tongue out at you.)

Thanks for the :thumbsup2 Honeybee! If it makes you feel any better we traded PFTS for dinner at Victoria and Albert's ... we thought it would be nice to try the dining room on our own since the last time we ate in the dining room my parents were with us and while it was nice it wasn't romantic.

I think I'm going to ask the Harpist to play Send in the Clowns. :rotfl2:

Looking forward to reading your next set of reviews once you get back - have a fabulous trip!!!

How in the world is this thing still going??? :rotfl: You finished it forever ago!!

Sunny, you don't know how many times I've asked myself that same question. :lmao: I keep waiting to come back to the DIS and find that a mod has locked us all out due to sheer annoyance.

Hi Kabuki! Please say hello if you see us ... I'm notoriously short-sighted so I'm liable to look right at you and not actually see you so throw some cheese at me to get my attention! :lmao: And thanks for the kind words about the blog. Have you ever been to Robuchon? It seems like the kind of place you would really enjoy. :thumbsup2

I can't wait for you to come back and share your reviews! I'm looking foward to them as much as my trip, (well almost that much. ;) )

Awww, thanks so much! You have to share yours first, though; that's how it works! :goodvibes

Ohhhhh... I can see it now....

I'm gonna be handin out little pills left and right...

I was going to seat you next to Jay so that you'd be more likely to behave. :lmao:

YUM!!!!

Can we look forward to a set of reviews once you're home? I'd love to read them - you have some great choices and variety planned. :thumbsup2

Gah! I'm ADR-less, sorta. I didn't make any for myself, but I guess it counts that I've been scheduled for your October 15. I didn't see a countdown for October for TinkRules in her siggie. Are we sure she's coming? :confused3

I've been to all the places listed except for Todd English's bluezoo™ as you know. I was debating returning to those old standbys, but I just haven't made the ADRs. How sad would a solo meal at V&A be?

I'm still holding out on the food and wine festival. I'm really tempted to make some ADRs, but I feel like I'm probably going to book the PFTS, the Sunday evening Signature event, and a couple of food and wine pairings (Coral Reef, Tokyo Dining if offered THIS freaking year!)

And for Kona, if you don't get the fish, get the pomegranate glazed pork chop. If it's consistently prepared as well as my Mom's was, it's a damn tasty meal.

I'm seriously considering getting my foie gras fix at either California Grill or Citrico's.

Hello Brenda...

No! haven't done Robuchon yes but after your review it is on the "list" that seems to grow larger each day!

I WILL say hello if we see you and if necessary carry some Humboldt Fog to throw your way in my pocket to get your attention! ;)

Send in the Clowns...

At my Senior Year Homecoming Football game, the band director used Send in the Clowns for the procession of the Homecoming Court.
The band tried to convince him that it was a BAD choice, but he just felt it was a particularily beautiful piece of music.
:lmao:

:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Jay thinks it's a bad idea because the harpist won't understand why, once she begins playing, he and I will be hee-hawing in a most undignifed manner at our table. :rotfl2:

At this point I'd rather have the ADR and cancel it if I can get something for F&W rather than be left high and dry. A 43-day booking window makes my intestinal tract spasm.

Still sounds like Tink will be joining us. :thumbsup2 And Jay and I are thinking of getting foie gras everywhere we can on this trip. :lmao:

US???? Behave????? AAAHHH HAAA HAA HA HA... Sure... :thumbsup2

Oh, you'll behave or there will be no more towel animal parties. ;)

:lmao:

Humboldt Fog ... good choice ... it will stick!

I booked two more reservations ...

Tokyo Dining on Friday evening (10/10) around 7:30PM and breakfast at the Rainforest Cafe over at the AK around 8:30AM (10/13).

The Rainforest reservation came about because I won a $25 gift certificate through work and I thought it might be fun to have some brek-a-doodle over at the Animal Kingdom.

Yes, we will eat and grow large with food! :lmao:

Edited to add: these are both new dining experiences for us, which means you, my friends, will get to read all about our thoughts and impressions of their foodstuffs.

You must be determined to be nowhere near us that week! :rotfl2:

I'll PM you what I have scheduled so far.
