We had the best meal and experience at Raglan Road! Just had to post to share for those who needed the extra nudge to make an ADR. :goodvibes

We booked a reservation for Christmas Day, and it was a huge hit! My mother passed last Christmas time, and my father has been lost without her. His parents were from Ireland, and several of my sisters were big-time Irish dancers back in the day. Visiting Raglan Road on Christmas day seemed like a great way to cheer my father up, so I called 180 days out and secured a reservation. Several days before Christmas, I called the restaurant and asked if they might be able to seat us in a place where my dad could see the dancers. The nice lady on the line said that she would make a note of it and do what she could.

Well, DTD was packed on Christmas night! We arrived early and waited to check in so that we would be able to watch the entertainment, which didn't start until 6:30. An acapella group sang Christmas songs by a bench where we were waiting. My father heard a song that reminded him of my mother, and the tears were flowing.

After a short while, it was time to check in. I talked to the lady at the desk, and it would up being the same lady I spoke with earlier in the week. She gave me a buzzer and asked us to wait. When the buzzer went off, we were seated in awesome seats, right by the side of the front and middle stages. Our waiter, Patrick, must have been in on the treat, because he couldn't have been more kind or personable.

Our food and service was fantastic, and the dancing was excellent! The musicians were wonderful, and the whole crowd clapped and cheered when the sets were done! Best of all, my father had a fantastic time!:thumbsup2

We're so grateful to the staff of Raglan Road for giving our family a new, happy Christmas memory!

Great Story Tink!!! We love Raglan Road. Glad it made your Christmas special

We discovered Raglan Road earlier this year and it went right to the top few of our favorite WDW restaurants. Sometimes we drive down just to have dinner there.

GREAT post :) RR is a must do for us every trip (last time twice!)! The service, atmosphere, & food has always been great...

I'm glad you had a wonderful time :)

Raglan Road is my favorite restaurant not only at Disney, but anywhere. So much so that I am treating 3 friends to dinner there in June because I can't stand the thought of being in Orlando without going to Raglan Road! Yum! Can't wait for June!!!

What a lovely story! I am so pleased to hear you were able to make new happy memories with your dad! I am always so close to eating there and then change my mind at the last minute. Maybe I should just go ahead and give it a try! Thanks for the nudge!:goodvibes

Lovely story! My husband and I are going there next week for the first time. What did you have to eat?

My mom loves the Shepard's Pie and Caesar Salad.

I have really enjoyed the Fish and Chips, Paddy's Pork, and the Tomato Soup (when they offer it as the soup of the day).

We are always too stuffed for dessert though... and I'd rather get a caramel apple from Goofy's!

The ham is to die for! Raglan Road is a huge favorite of ours and we go every trip. The service is always excellent!

Sorry it's taken so long to respond! My dad loved his shepard's pie. I had appetizers (can't remember which ones, but they were all very tasty,) and some sort of a root vegetable soup. It was really yummy. Other favorites were the some kind of a sewfood chowder in a cheese sauce with little toasts for dipping, and the bread budding.:thumbsup2
