Huge coupons on iheartcvs website

With all the debate over these coupons, I feel strange asking, but I would be super grateful to anyone that saved them in PDF and wouldnt mind sharing. Would like to use in moderation the ones that are found to be for sure legit. Thanks. Email is same as member name @ yahoo.com

Any of the coupons in PDF form are not valid, only those printed directly from your personal Facebook account are. You may want to peak at what the devloper/company says on their Facebook account... basic synopsis is that saved PDF file coupons = fraud!

Sorry for all of you that want the coupons but after reading facebook's response to these coupons I am not going to be distributing them. I am sorry I wish I could say they were legit; I just don't feel comfortable passing on something that looks to be fraudulent.:sad2:

Now vyrlmkt is saying they consider ALL the coupons invalid, even those printed directly from the application. This means your store will not be paid. A class action law suit has been started by individuals and some have been arrested trying to use the coupons.

If you used these coupons at a store that you shop at regularly, I would consider going in to speak to a manager so that he/she knows that you did nothing wrong. Vyrlmkt sent out emails to all the major corporate grocery stores and who knows what it said - probably claiming hacking and they probably didn't mention that yesterday they issued a statement saying they would honor all the coupons printed directly from facebook (today they say they can't tell the difference - DUH!).

What a sad story this case has become. A new company obviously got in over there heads and they are now back-pedaling. So they've gone from giving a list of coupons that were valid (the cheez it one, etc.) to now they are ALL invalid.

LanaJae, I read the link you posted and I didn't see anything about people being arrested trying to use the coupons :confused3 Perhaps I missed it?

Also, according to that link, NO class action lawsuit has been started. :confused3 One of the posters who posted on your link stated that she filled out an online form at the website of a law firm specializing in class action lawsuits (basically a "contact us" form). There is no indication that any law firm has taken on this case, much less started a lawsuit. If there is another link that shows this, please post it! Thanks! :)

The link was for the company's statement and comments.

There are posts at slickdeals, HCW and other bargain sites about the whole subject. At the beginning of the posts at slickdeals, there is a conversation posted with a rep from the marketing company who said that people have been arrested. There's another discussion at facebook where a group has gotten together to file a class action.

It is sad that the legit coupons are not invalid. BUT all the people who were using them and they were not intended for them were the ones who are to blame not the company. The company ran a promotion, maybe not the best way to run it, and then greedy individuals took it upon themselves to copy and distribute these coupons. I even saw the ones on here state they were going to run out and use them before they became invalid. They knew they had a fradulant coupon, but wanted the deal at any cost. Sadly some are still asking for them even now that they are know to all be invalid.

I feel bad for the ones who got them legit on facebook and now cannot use them.

As for the arrests, they could happen and may become more common in the future as the profit margin of companies decreases and they need to real in the amount of fraud associated with their coupons.

I can only hope that actions like this do not result in the elimination or sever curtailing of coupons in the future.

I for one never intended to defraud anyone. I read the initial post, went to the site, and only saw .50 coupons. I have no experience with Facebook. I simply thought I was missing something and that there was a link or something I wasn't seeing. While I'm sure there are many people in the world who intentionally try to stick it to companies, I believe the majority of people on these boards just look for good deals and share them, but draw the line at fraud. There are frequently coupons on the freebie thread for free McDonald's, etc. It never crosses my mind that coupons might not be legit. because I am so unsaavy about pdf files, hacking into sites, etc. that I don't think that way. I think I'll be avoiding coupon links.

I am very computer savy, so I look at everything that I see like this and ask myself does it look legit or not. It not, then I never do it.

I knew about the facebook coupons way before it was posted on the DIS. As soon as I saw it I knew something was fishy and I did not print or save the file.

If it says go to McDonald's on Monday for a free sandwich. I know that is easy to verify at the McDonald's website.

This is what is says on the facebook page:

*** IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT - EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY ***
Dear Check It Out User,

Thank for your support and enthusiasm, the response has been overwhelmingly positive. Our guiding principle is to help you stretch your household budget as far as possible, particularly in these challenging economic times. Please continue to help us with this goal as we address the current unfortunate situation. As many of you may have heard, our system was breeched resulting in the illegal spreading of fraudulent copies of our coupons via email or PDF. We are extremely saddened by this occurrence and understand the frustration that many of you feel, as we have families and children of our own.

That said, it has been several days since the print limits of our offers were reached. Unfortunately copies of the coupons are still being illegally circulated on the Internet, making it impossible to determine which are legitimate and which are not. Each of our coupons clearly states that "offer void if altered or copied".

Our teams are working diligently to resolve all issues so we can continue bringing you quality offers.

It is an unfortunate but sad reality; however, in order to protect our retailers and all of you responsible coupon users, all coupons will now be considered invalid copies. We are working with all industry players and word is going out to the retailers to not accept them.

The abuse by the few has lead to this decision which sadly affects the many. Despite this setback, the overall result of our initial launch has been overwhelmingly successful. We are currently working with manufacturers and sponsors to bring you a wider range of offers based largely on the products that you told us you wanted to see

I don't see anything about lawsuits or people being arrested. The coupons did not become fraudulent until people starting copying them. So they were REAL coupons to began with.

Tracy

I knew about them as well but because Facebook did not use Bricks to run the coupons they appeared to be unlimited prints for each user UNTIL print limits were reached. Once print limits were reached the lower value coupons replaced those 'promo' coupons. The problem, like other companies have experienced in the past is that they were PDF files and could be saved to the computer instead of being blocked by IP address once you've printed a limit of 2 coupons.

Airheads got burned by this in 06. Silk in 07. Companies need to stop and think before publishing coupons on the web.

August 27, 2008. The Coupon Information Corporation (CIC) and The Association of Coupon Professionals (ACP) express great disappointment at vyrl mkt, Inc.'s recent creation of unauthorized coupons bearing the registered trademarks of respected consumer products companies, and its apparent negligence or recklessness in distributing or allowing the coupons to be manipulated and distributed by third parties.

It appears that the management of vyrl mkt, Inc. has disregarded U.S. intellectual property laws, ethical business practices, and basic internet security procedures and, in doing so, has caused substantial confusion among reputable retailers and consumers and harm to the manufacturers whose trademarks were misappropriated.

Vyrl mkt, Inc. has increased the confusion with its failure to issue a formal, complete public explanation, and apparently has made no attempt to inform retailers and consumers about the proper handling of the unauthorized and invalid coupons.

The Members of CIC and the ACP were unaware of vyrl mkt, Inc.’s intention to create and release coupons as it did prior to the coupons appearance on Facebook.

None of our Members provided vyrl mkt, Inc. with permission to create or to release these coupons or to use our Members’ copyrighted or trademarked images.

Vyrl mkt, Inc. and the individuals personally responsible for its unauthorized acts should take all appropriate actions to ensure that these unfortunate events are not repeated and take all necessary steps to minimize any additional damage to consumers, retailers, manufacturers, and the overall industry.

It's really great to see the CIC 100% behind the consumers with this fiasco. I've been watching the news reports on this, it's very sad.
