Anywhere on Hollywood Blvd. (DHS' "Main Street") would be a good choice.
The show takes place "above" the Chinese Theatre (Great Movie Ride.)

We watched across the 'street' from Hyperion theater right in front of the big screen they have there. We were right in front of the tables at the rope line for both the fireworks and processional parade. It's kind of a side view for the fireworks, but we thought the location was great because we didn't want to be in that mob. They showed the stage show on the big screen.

We watched from in front of the Trolley Car Cafe. We didn't have a direct view of the stage but were right in front of a screen where we could see everything. It also made it easy for us to head right down Sunset Blvd to see the second Fantasmic! once the Frozen fireworks were over.

We watched near the entrance to Fantasmic. While we couldn't see the stage or screens, we still had a great view of the actual fireworks. I was irritated at our position at first--my dad refused to get closer because he didn't want to be in the crowd--but it turned out to be a good view of the fireworks. They were great! Once they were finished, we easily walked into Fantasmic.
