Hello to all...
First off I would like to say thank you to all that have posted on the boards. Your info save me alot of money, saved me time standing in lines in the FLA. heat, and let us have a great vacation. Thank you.
We left New Jersey at 830am. We are myself DW, DS 13, DD9. With the tips from the site for the TSA, we had no problems at all. We don't fly too often but being on a flight that is packed, not 1 open seat, whit cheers for take off/landing is fun. It makes up for the crying on the flight.
We used QUICKSILVER TOURS because of the input on the transportation page. Carlos our driver was great. The Publix stop went smooth. I forgot to get a disposible cooler which will be a problem later in the day.
Check in went smoothe. In and out in 5 minutes. I presented the Loews card but because it was the first time I used the card the only upgrade was a free paper. OH well I tried. The cookies would have been nice.
The one thing that really mattered to me was a pet free room. I had posted this question on the boards and got some good info. I had called 2 days prior and was assured the room was not used for pets. One of our children is extremely allergic to K-9 dander and this is an issue. The room was fine. I have read in the past that people say the hotel is run down and needs carpeting and paint. We had room 3115 and it was fine. It was at the end of the hall past the Hard Rock store. We had a view of the Woodstock lawn and part of the water taxi. We let the kids explore the lobby while we unpacked. DS took pictures of all the guitars and had a blast guessing the stars.
We had lunch at the beach club and it was about 40$. Its on par with any chain restaraunt that sells drinks.
We decided to hit US first. We wanted to hit rides that we had missed on our last trip that included only 1 day off season. At this point let me just say that I had spent alot of time lurking on the boards researching this trip. We had no control over when we could go so thinking about getting on the rides was important. I had a hard time paying 264$ a night for a room. But after reading FRONT OF THE LINE. FOTL. My mind was made up. I would cut expenses somewhere else if I had to, and work as much overtime before the trip to get the on site room. If you have any doubts about the expense during prime time don't FOTL is the best perk in theme parks. :cool1: Enough of my soap box. Sorry about that.
We hit The Terminator, Mummy ,and Men in black. Posted times were in excess of 30-40 minutes. FOTL no longer than 10mins. It is that incredible. At this point we went back to the hotel for a swim and the movie. It was Willy Wonka. The kids had ablast and we had dinner and drinks. We could see the fireworks from our seats at the pool.
One thing about the pool is that it is smaller in person than the pictures on the website. DS is spoiled as the deepest part was under 4.5", DD loved the slide though. It was really packed so I think that had something to do with it.
Tomorrow the IOA
