how's weather in december?

our last trip to discovery cove was in the month of may. it was wonderful. however, our daughter has developed asthma and we are planning our next trip for december. has anyone tried discovery cove in december? i'm hoping the water is not too cold.

They keep the water in the dolphin lagoon and snorkeling pool at 72 degrees, so my guess is the water temp will be roughly the same year 'round.

The water will be fine as the previous poster said because it will be heated. As for the weather...who knows? It's been nearly 80 degrees on Christmas before, but its also been in the 30s or 40s, so it all depends. Average temp in December is 62. The average high is 72, average low is 51. It all depends on the cold fronts and if they are strong enough to get to Florida.

We've gone the first week of Dec. and it was about 50 degrees that day. You'll get a wetsuit (go early for the best choices and go for the full wet suit). Also, if it's slow you can ask to "double dip". You can only ask when you get there, you can't order it. If the park's slow, then for a small fee (don't remember how much) but you can do 2 dolphin swims! It's lots of fun. Only downside was that it was too cold for the sloth to come out. We're thinking about doing it this next Dec. also.
