How's Spoodles or Flying Fish

We need a reason why we should visit the boardwalk, so we decided on a lunch or dinner there. We are thinking about Spoodles or Flying Fish.

It will probably only be my parents and my niece for diner on this night. We are just looking for somthing good, nothing spectacular. Thanks

Flying Fish is one of my favorite restaurants in all of WDW. Their menu is mainly seafood, and I usually order whatever fish they have that is oak-grilled and served with risotto. They also make a marvelous steak, which is what DH usually orders. The atmosphere is casual, and a little noisy.

I've never tried Spoodles for dinner, but their breakfast is great.

Neither Spoodles or FF is open for lunch.

Flying Fish is also one of our favorites, but then again, being from New England, we love all things fish. Never tried Spoodles, but it's on out to do list.

I like them both:

Flying Fish has some great memorable entrees and I'm hoping to do dessert this trip as well. I had one of their signature dishes last time - the Potato Wrapped Snapper, it was divine, great texture and the fish tasted so fresh.

Spoodles is a little more hustly bustly. Great servers here and again some different dishes to try - I usually don't have an entree but have loads of the appetizers so it's sort of Tapas style. LOL haven't managed dessert here either

I agree the breakfast at Spoodles is also very good!

Give Spoodles a try, we eat here on every trip and have never had a bad meal yet. We always start our meal with one of there flatbreads, they are great. I had the Tuna on our last trip and it was the best I had ever had. We also love having breakfast here. If you have dinner take a stroll around the boardwalk after dinner, it is really beautiful in the evening.

If you're not looking for something spectacular, then you shouldn't go to the Flying Fish. It's ... spectacular!

I too wanted to try out the boardwalk area and decided to try the Big River Grill.. it has roadhouse fare, wings, burgers, asndwiches, ribs... they don't take PS's here so I switched to Spoodles...

Maybe the Big River Grille would be a more casual - non spectacular - boardwalk option?

The only place open on the Boardwalk for lunch is the Big River Grille. The food there is good, but not our fave BW place. During the day not much is happening. The Boardwalk comes alive at night.

I would recommend going to Spoodle's around dark. The Boardwalk all lite up is a beautiful sight. We love to sit on the benches after we eat and watch the boats coming and going on the lake. There is so much going on... people riding surry bikes, jugglers, entertainers, music playing .. it is just a wonderful place!

One more thing.. if you are not full from dinner, one of the carts sells yummy crepes on a stick!

Humm.. let me see if I can explain it..

They pour the batter in a waffle iron looking thing and stick the stick in . It cooks with batter oozing out the side and the stick just stays inside. It looks rather like a popsicle when it is done. On my, it smells so good!

I am trying remember the flavors. We always get cheese, which is added to the batter before it is cooked. I think they have ham and cheese too. There are some sweet ones. I have seen people eating them with powered sugar on them.

Actually, the ESPN club is open at lunchtime as well. I think it is the same menu throughout the day, serving typical bar food: burgers, sandwiches, hot wings (in different heat intensity), etc. I like the chicken wrap.
