Howmany people have left here due to attitudes?

OP, I left the debate board (before it closed) because it got too intense for me. Plus, one DBer in particular said some pretty mean things to me. I enjoyed debating, but it just wasn't worth it to be attacked personally.

I could never leave the DIS though. I love talkin' about WDW too much! I enjoy the CB.

Thanks...I just thought some of the posts I read might have been too intense. I would provide a link but, what might seem mean to me, may not be to you. Maybe I am one of the overly sensitive types sometimes.

It just seemed (especially with the DB), that some people as jimmiej said, personally attacked people.

I should say, I remember quite a few from the debate board that I thought were over the top.

I was just wondering y'all. Thanks.

I actually did leave the RB to come over to the CB. Some of the people on that board have quite the elitist attitude, and for some reason it was making me irritated. I found that the people here on the CB are so nice, and the irritating ones are very few and far between. I go the the RB for info, but stay here for fun and fluff!

I get nasty stuff said to me all the time. I chalk it up to dumb people who have absolutely no life and get their joy out of making other people miserable.

I got a really super nasty PM last night, that was not only totally ignorant but from someone who had very few posts (which tells me they are either 100% a troll or just not brave enough to post nasty things under their regular screenname  ).

The most amusing thing I ever got was a PM from someone knocking Monty dog. Saying that he was ugly, not worthy of people's attention and obviously not even a purebred Jack Russell Terrier.

:confused:Someone's life is so void of happiness and meaning that they were left with nothing else to do but to resort to sending hate mail to a dog.

I don't let it bother me. I actually think it is kind of amusing. It used to bother me, but I'd have to say that on an average day I get 99% more positive responses from people than negative ones.

I would NEVER stop posting the Monty threads, nor would I ever leave the DIS because of the handful of idiots who do things that are mean.

I think it's kind of sad that some people can't disagree on issues without resorting to name calling and hatred. There are a lot of folks both in my daily life and on the DIS with whom I disagree about certain issues, but I still like them, respect their opinion and have fun talking to them.

I can think of at least a few people in particular who I have posted disagreements (civil ones!) in political/issues threads and then 5 minutes later was joking around with on more light hearted threads. :)

Well I'm glad to see you don't let it bother you. You have to laugh it off. That's what I would do anyways. People could send me all the nasty PM's they want and it wouldn't bother me in the least. It's funny how some people can act when they are hiding behind a computer screen.:)

Tell Monty Dog that I think he is adorable and to ignore that person..............(actually, I am shocked anyone would even say that...........how sad)

I've been posting on message boards for 5 years now, and I've learned that there are ALL types of people, and you can either let them get to you or ignore them and move on. The board is what you make of it. Take from it what you want, leave the rest behind. I love this board, it is a great mixture of people and it's just plain FUN!! :) But sometimes, I just don't like the feel of it and there are many threads which I don't enjoy. So, I simply don't post for awhile, and come back when it feels like the place I enjoy again. :)

You know, I have recieved a couple of rude pm's and they did hurt my feelings. Call me overly sensitive...or just as likely hormonal:crazy: if you want. I stopped for awhile around my surgery, because I felt that it was stressful at that time. I didn't need that!

In general however, I really like the CB. People are usually repectful, even when not throwing PD! I try to be the same.

eta: Snoopy, we had the third boy! Assumed it would be but was at least rooting for blue eyes, like mine. Alas, it is 3 brown hair, brown eyed boys!

Did we have a "mean" episode over the weekend? If so can you fill us in?:D

I'm sure it wll pass anyway. If anyone wants me too, I'll stick up for ya!;) :sunny:

Michelle, I am sure we would have had 7 or 8 boys before we ever had a girl. My mother had 7 boys and my MIL had 5. Boys are prevalent in my family, and while I never was told what I was having by sonogram or amnio, never for a moment did I think I would have a girl. I was so convinced mine were boys I didn't even bother to come up with a girl's name either time. Love my boys though, wouldn't trade them for all the world.

Back to your regularly scheduled programming. :)

I've been here since 1998 and seen lots of people come and go. I don't know why people take stuff so personally. I've never had a problem with separating my real life and cyber life.

Couldn't agree more. Incidentally I have always found these boards to be incredibly friendly. I do think that dramatic people attract drama, that much is clear.

Overall, the board/s are incredible, very friendly, informative. I certainly enjoy them. Over the years, I have taken short breaks when things bothered me, but never for long, just a break, like anything in RL, we need breaks. I know last spring/summer it was an unusually nasty time here and I know quite a few folks did leave, but some sem to slowly be coming back, and that is nice to see. Feelings can get hurt, some folks just think it not worth the 'aggravation', and do leave. And that is sad, but it is that way in RL also. Overall, I think the DIS/CB is a good place, and more or less seems to moderate itself these days, like a good neighborhood. JMO.
