how would you handle this?

It would depend on the reason for the parent being on the sex offender registry. For instance, a child that is in my DDs class has a father who is a registered sex offender. I let my DD play over there all the time. Why? Because this guy was 18 dating a 15 year old and was charged with statutory rape, that was 12 years ago and the guy and the gf are now married with 4 kids. So, that really does make a difference. Now, if the guy fondled a prepubescent child, then heck no, I would not allow my child over there.

But, I would also trust my instincts.

I understand those ..I don't think that is the case here..like i said they won't talk about it and the middle child lives with her grandma and has since she was 4 and refuses to have a relationship with her parents ..it was the oldest that dd wanted to go with...it is very complicated but I figured it out after being around the middle child for a while...she is such a sweetheart and her grandma is a wonderful person..her grandma told me one day that she didn't raise her child they way her child was living life, I felt so bad for...
