I was anxious about the new system but now that I've figured it out, I love it.

Definitely don't miss running around collecting fastpasses because I was always the one sent to get them! Plus, when it works, using the app is WONDERFUL.

I don't see paper coming back ever - too much invested in this and they can sell these magic bands for a decent profit - especially the themed ones and of course the add on charms.

IMO the" too much invested" argument just doesn't fly. The FP+ portion of MDE continues suck up a lot of operating expenses. At the last shareholders report the execs even said they were hoping FP+ use would increase and guests would "catch on" to how the system worked. This will never happen, FP+ is not an intuitive software program. It requires a lot of hand holding for first time users. It's also not that easy for repeats. Quite a few guests have had to call tech support while making reservations. On top of that, the system has glitches that result in system crashes..
Elimination of FP+ would not eliminate MB's. Disney would still be able to track their guests, use the band for room and park access and for charging. Also, they could continue to profit off of the limited time MB's and MB sales to off site guests..
I just think FP+ is too complicated to survive.

This. I choose C. Eliminate FP completely.
I would have chosen this as well, but chose Legacy fastpass because everyone was pretty much equal with that. With FP+, I can't make any reservations until 30 days out which means there's literally no chance of getting a fastpass for some attractions and forget about it if I make a spur of the moment decision to just visit one of the parks.

I don't know how to quote on the app, but jfsag123 said they didn't like having to predict whether a FP would be needed vs legacy where you could simply look at the two times. Luckily, as a DIS patron, you can check out Mesaboy2s awesome FP+ priorities thread. I found it extremely helpful and very accurate in action in the parks.

(I re-read and think I sounded sarcastic there, but it's NOT my intention. I agree the predicting game is a FP+ downside & just trying to help people navigate around it)

Oh believe me, I have been on that thread and will be all over it as it gets closer to my booking window. The problem is that there is not really precedent yet for the time of year I'm going, so it still feels like a game of predictions. I will make the best of it and plow ahead with our trip - this isn't make or break for me, as it appears to be for some, just an extra layer of headache. I know we will have an amazing time regardless, as we will have a week in Disney as a family!

And no worries, I did not read your post as sarcastic and I am the queen of sarcasm. :thumbsup2

I don't care for the FP+. I would be so very happy if Disney went back to legacy FP. So much easier to actually go with the flow of your day, then to be stressed out over when to ride a ride.

Actually at this point now that we've become accustomed to FP+ it would probably affect our choice of where to vacation if they removed FP+.

We actually vacation at WDW. Meaning we relax and enjoy things at a leasurely pace. It's become very nice for us to show up at Epcot at 2pm and walk right on to Soarin. Not sure we'd be prepared to go without that anymore.

We enjoy Universal just as much and staying onsite there with Unlimited Express Pass and being able to walk to the parks would probably get most of our business. It would probablydrive us to expand our horizons and go to Hawaii and other places as well.

Not saying we would never goto WDW again, but it wouldn't be a yearly 2 week stay like it is now.

Fortunately that is NEVER going to happen!!! :)

So with all the great improvements of MDE and FP+ we will continue to enjoy our leasurely WDW vacations!!! :thumbsup2

I could not come up with a clear option in the middle, keeping it simple, what would be your choice? No fighting, no debating... just simple

"I'm fine either way, just as long as they don't go back to no FastPass"
or at least
"other, because there lways has to be an other" :)

Im not too clued up on the whole FP+ but couldn't they drop it so only those in DVC and Deluxe hotels get it? or is that not the issue?
