How would YOU answer this question...

We're going for our honeymoon and I've had quite a few people say "Disney for your honeymoon, that's not exactly romantic." What could be more romantic than the most magical place on earth??? They treat you really well even if you say in a value resort, you get celebration buttons to help CM's make your visit special, and they have amazing food Plus there are tons of romantic things you can do that combine the best of all the 'normal' honeymoon spots. Where else can you have breakfast in Norway, lunch in Germany, and dinner in Canada before walking on the beach in Hawaii at sunset and going to sleep in cabin in the woods? I rest my case.

We always get, "You're going back THERE again"? And my response is, "You bet we are, we love Disney World"! I know some poeple can't understand going back to the same place over and over, but when I find something I love, I stick with it. Every 2 or 3 years we go on a long cruise and have been lots of places, but we always go back to DW...

I get that a lot. Along with "there are places,ya know". I say to that, "no, I don't know because we are always go to DISNEY.


We have a 14 night trip planned and I got asked " what the hay are you going to do at Disney for 14 days"? I smiled and replied "we will something to do".

You know, this kind of question always cracks me up. My family does this to me. I love them to death, but it's always, " aren't you kind of obsessed with Disney? Why not try something else ?" or "you're going to drive your husband crazy with always wanting to go to Disney". Here it is, this is what WE love to do. It's what makes OUR vacation dreams special. (oh, and just for the record, my DH is also kind of Disney obsessed after going for the first time last year..... I'm so proud, he's a convert !!)

People say, "why not go Jamaica or someplace like that, lay on the beach?". To me, I'd be bored out of my skull laying on a beach for 8 hours every day. I'd SO much rather ride rides, eat Mickey ice cream, play in the pool at the resort, ride the monorail....to me, THAT is vacation. It's pure magic.

The great thing ? There's something for everyone in this world. And everyone has their own way of making magic and family memories. Ours is Disney. I'm not going to apologize for it or sheepishly make excuses. You don't like it ? It doesn't matter... you're not paying for it.

So when someone asks me "what do you do there?" or "you're going there again". I say " YUP. Sure am. And I'm going to have a magical time." Eye roll all you want...... my week is mine.

Having been asked this question, what they're really asking is are you planning to do anything special, other than just go to the parks. Like Universal, Sea World. I'd say primarily the parks, if that's what we were doing. If we were also doing a water park, I'd through that in. If we were thinking about doing DT Disney, Disney Quest, or Circ de soleil, I might say were thinking about doing those as well. Seems to be a pretty easy question to me.

If I said "I'm going to WDW" and the person said "are you doing anything special?" I would reply "Yes, I am GOING TO WDW".

That's so funny....We just returned from a 14 day cruise in the southern Caribbean and our DS18, who has been going to DW since he was 3 yo, said he can't wait to get back to DW where there's something to do every second!!!

Our trip is quickly approaching (2 DAYS! ) and I have been asked the following question multiple times:

"Oh, you're going to Walt Disney World. What are you going to do there?"

(Note - I have been asked by people who have been and have not been to WDW.)

For the life of me, I can't come up with a good response to this! Part of me wants to be like, "Ummm, what are we not going to do there?!?!" And then another part of me knows that I could go on and on about what we're going to do...but who wants to listen to that? I've pretty much resorted to this semi-lame answer, "Go to the parks and eat at cool places." I can tell by the looks I've been getting that that is not a satisfactory response.

So what would YOU say if someone asked you this?

I turn it into a learning experience -- or a teaching experience, depending on who I am talking to. I dive right in, excited just to be talking Disney. But it's to the point now when I am at work people approach me about their pending trips to DW.

I tell them exactly what we are going to do, what we have done and what THEY MUST DO. I guess I try to pump them up when I am talking. I really try to keep the focus on them, not me, because I assume that, though they are asking ME about my trip, what they want to know is "is it worth my time to go to Disney World?"

And always, ALWAYS ask first thing: "Have you been to Disney World?"

First, if I don't know already, I ask them if they've been there before.

If they haven't been to Disney before, I typically start going on and on about it, and pretty much get them up to speed about how everything works at disney (resorts, parks, and dining). During the course of this, they normally see how enthusiatic I am about it and tend to keep asking more questions. I think I've inadvertantly caused quite a few folks to book Disney trips.

If they have been there, I go through our itinerary (where we're staying, which parks each day, dining plans...). They typically get pretty excited hearing about our plans. I'm the same way, I like talking to other people about their trips. Takes some of the Disney withdrawal away.
