I'd love to get a peek at this Town with DD on our next trip. We'll have a car... can we just drive in and look around? Anyone know ? TIA

Celebration is a totally ungated community, all are welcome - drive on over and have a look around.

Anything special I should look for while peeking. I am so afraid to look there. I may not want to leave...

You definitely won't want to leave. We feel in love. It is a total utopia. We would already live there if it wasn't so darn expensive.

We went to have a look at Celebration last month on our visit to WDW. Oh my, It was JUST like Stepford and we seriously worried about getting out without being brainwashed! Beautifully done but SO artifical!

If you are there over halloween or later you are in for real treat .The owners go to town on the decorations usually and it is fantastic .Take a walk around the lake and if you are lucky they may have the street market on.

We are driving up the Orlando in November and I am trying to convince my husband to drive around Celebration to check it out , but he says no! any suggestions to help change his mind? He is a serious Miami Dolphin fan, by any chance is there a sports store. Last year he did not want to go to Down town Disney after walking all day in the park. I told him there was a Sports store, We'll lets just say that we are now the proud owner of a Ricki Williams in the orange jersey bobble head, Mickey and Pluto dressed up as Dolphins players. Gotta admit Mickey and Pluto are cute.

There is no sports store, sorry. But the Tampa Bay Buccaneers stay at the Celebration Hotel during pre-season training. ;)

Just don't drink the Kool-Aid while you are here! It might convince you to buy one of these exspensive fake houses and entertain tourists with holiday decorations! :rotfl:

Is this town still a Disney entity? I thought a year or two back Disney announced it was for sale.

Disney set up The Celebration Company to selll the land and oversee the building of the town. Disney owned the downtown area, Market Street. They also owned the golf course. Last year (I think) they sold those things. This was something that was always in the plans (or so I hear) as Celebration grew. The homeowner's association still has one rep from TCC on the board, but that will end when the build-out is done.

hi
celebration is spooky enough without halloween decorations. as mentioned above very stepford although we did enjoy the walking trail round the lake at night after eating a meal at the market place diner.
