Heres what I want to do :

*3 nights at one resort
w/ 7 day base tickets
and 7 day meal plan.

AND THEN

*4 nights at another resort
room only

In checking things out, I see its far cheaper if I buy all 7 days of my tickets at one time. The Disney website will let me do this......I get an error box, but it gives me the option of proceeding anyway if I really do want 7 day tickets compared to me 3 night stay.

What it will not do, is let me price the 7 day meal plan with just the 3 night stay.

So, question is :: Can I book the meal plan with a room only ressie?
For example, can I book the meal plan for our 4 night stay at the second resort, even though I am not purchasing tickets with that stay?
(Because I would have the 7 day passes from our 3 night stay)

Have I confused you? :scratchin

From what I gather: the dining plan corresponds to the number of nights on your package. So, on your 3 night package, you'd have three days worth of dining, no more.

You have to book a package to get the dining, not just room only.

I think this is a question that can only be answered by calling Disney directly.

You will not be able to book this online yourself.

Good luck! :sunny:

You can get the tickets for however many days you like, regardless of your length of stay.

Your dining plan must match the number of nights in your reservation. SO, you cannot make a 3-night reservation and add 7 nights of dining to it.

You cannot book the meal plan with a room-only ressie.

Sorry.

Your number of nights has to match the meal plan you are getting, and you also have to have a ticket purchase inorder to add dining. So you could not add dining on to the second half of your reservation. You could always get the package for the first part of your trip & then do room only for the second part, but you would not be able to add the dining on to that. Also, you will probably have to call Disney directly to book if it won't let you do it online. If you get a CM who says that they can't do it (like they did with me), call back until you get someone who knows how to do it.

I had a similar issue. I am splitting our stay also, and my DD and myself will have AP's. So, not everyone in our party will need park tickets. So what I was finally able to do, after getting advice on this board and speaking with several different CM's is this: I needed 2 rooms, so I booked one room with package, Mom, Sister, neice & nephew (3 adults, 1 kid), 5 night with 10 day MYW + hopping, plus dining. In the other room I have myself, DD5 & DD2, I booked this room with AAA discount. The plan is to share meals. We are going to eat at the nicer table service & counter service places while on the plan.

Good luck.

BTW, this only works because we added the package to the first hotel we're staying at.

Thanks everyone :goodvibes

I knew I would have to call WDTC to book this, but was just trying to price it out online first.

Looks like we will either have fore-go the meal plan for the last half of our trip, or book all 7 nights at one resort w/the meal plan. And ,since my DH refuses to do Disney without a meal plan......I guess this is the way we will go ;-)
