How will you say 2010?

I have been thinking 20-10 (twenty ten) but two thousand ten seems easier now that I say it out loud.

I use both twenty ten and two thousand ten depending on the context and how it sounds in the sentence. A more formal sounding sentence would probably get the later while a more casual will get the former.

It is a bit like how sometimes you say can not and sometimes just can't. Depends on the setting, context, and audience.

I've been dealing with that year so long I think I've always been in it!! Everyone in my business calls it Twenty Ten.

I never wanted to "party like it's one thousand, nine hundred, ninety-nine" so I'm thinking it's twenty ten for me.:)

For all you twenty-tenners (except FireDancer, who's explained how he uses whichever version makes the most sense in the context) - how have you said the last ten years? Twenty-oh-oh or two thousand? Twenty-oh-five or two thousand five? So, why change now?

Well, twenty-oh-oh sounds a bit awkward. I've been saying twenty-ten because it no longer sounds awkward. By your reasoning, prior to two thousand, I should have been saying one thousand nine hundred ninety-nine, otherwise I shouldn't have changed to two thousand.

It's always been "two thousand something" for whatever year. So this one will be no different.

Two thousand ten

Never heard anyone say it was "twenty oh nine" or "twenty oh four". That sounds weird.

My 80 year old grandma has been saying two-oh-oh-nine. I'm curious to find out what she'll call 2010. Two-oh-one-oh?!

I said "nineteen XXX" for a huge part of my life, and I got tired of saying "two thousand XXX" about 5 years ago. I've been saying "oh six" and "oh nine" and I've been calling next year "twenty ten" for a couple of years now. LOL

I'm ready to get back to a more familiar way of referring to years and even decades. I don't care for the "naughts" but I don't know what else to call this decade. Being able to say "the 70s" or "the 90s" was much easier. Now we can have "the teens." :D

Whatever you want to call it, Happy New Year!! I've been looking forward to 2010 for 12 years and I can't believe it's almost here!

Along the lines of oh-eight, oh-nine and such, DS keeps referring to oh-ten. :rotfl:
I guess technically it's right--if you consider it two-oh-ten.

Two thousand ten..

I can still remember when we hit "2000" and how odd it sounded to me after saying "nineteen" whatever for so many years.. Now here we are - in a little while it will be TEN years later!!!
