I will be saying two thousand ten. I never understood why people would say oh 9. Oh is a letter, in a year it is a zero, so for the previous year is should have been 2 thousand 9. Also, in the math world if you said 2 thousand and 10, someone might think you meant 2000.10

I never wanted to "party like it's one thousand, nine hundred, ninety-nine" so I'm thinking it's twenty ten for me.

I was thinking about this last night. No one ever said one thousand nine hundred and the year. However, I think once it goes into the next century, the way the year is said will become standardized with "twenty one" and the year to follow.

When I refer to the previous century and the first decade of that, I say nineteen OH nine. I never said that in this decade though.

I have to beg people not to use AND in the number!! As taylor3297 brilliantly pointed out, two thousand AND ten is 2,000.10. My 3rd graders know better!

Thanks for the compliment. I used to be a middle grades math teacher, so it really bugs me when people us an and where it is not appropriate.
