It looks very likely that my beloved Angels will be in the World Series while we are there Oct 25-28. HOw might this affect park attendance, and what is the scalping like in Anaheim for game tix? I would love to get to go to a game, would even give up a night in the parks for it.

It's kinda early to be predicting who's going to be in the World Series don't you think? :confused3 ;)

Anyways, IF the WS is partially held in Anaheim, of course the crowds are going to increase because people will have the mentality of "Oh, since I'm already here for the WS, might as well go to DL!"

Top of the 5th, Yankees 0 / Angels 0 as I type this from my office watching the game. :surfweb:

Scalping is illegal in California on the venue property. You'll find many scalpers on the streets. Ebay or stubhub may be your best bet. I've heard of way too many people getting scammed from fake tickets. You should also realize tickets will be $$$$$. The last time the Angels went to the World Series, I was offered $600 a seat for my seats in the upper level. But that was alos game 7.

Today FoxSports had 10 of 11 experts predict the Angels in the series, qith one abstention. They did a cute skit with Judge Wapner called The Player's Court where he ruled that all plaintiffs, the Chisox, and Tampa Bay in particular, should never have brought suit as they had no chance of beating the Angels, in court or elsewhere. Had to be tough for someone who bleeds Dodger Blue.

Huge Angel fan here as well!

It's definitely too early to predict the Halos in the WS... but I like your wishful thinking!

I would imagine that park attendance would increase.

As far as WS tickets... they are very hard to come by and are extremely expensive. I was lucky enough the attend game 7 of the WS in 2002 but only after my buddy went to the stadium at 5 am to obtain a wrist band in hopes of purchasing a "released" ticket. By the 2 inning... and after 12 hours of waiting (with no break) he got 2 tickets.

Remember season ticket holders, families of the teams, management and MLB all have priority to by WS tickets. If you really want to go... buy from a reputable dealer (Barry's Tickets, etc.) and be ready to pay a hefty price.

I can almost guarantee you that any ticket being offered on the street by a scalper for the World Series is a fraudulent one.

World Series tickets are very expensive. When my father got them in 2002 in San Francisco they were over $150 or so per ticket at face value directly from the Giants. If you're not an Angels season ticket holder, it will be extremely expensive and difficult to get them. I would plan on at least $500 per ticket and that may be low.

Ah, but that is a far cry from a done deal. Trust me...I'm a Red Sox fan. While we've had good years recently, there were many years when we were a "sure thing" to go to the WS. :lmao:

OK, I could be wrong on this, but...

I've believe that the WS is scheduled to start 10/22, with Game 7, if necessary, on 10/30, a Thursday. If that were the case, I'd guess games 1 and 2 would be on the 22nd and 23rd. Games 3,4, and 5 would be the 25th,26th, and 27th, with 6 and 7 on the 29th and 30th.

Since the AL won the All-Star game, then games 3-5 would be in the NL park. So unless the Dodgers or Padres also make it, the WS will not be in SoCal while you are there.

I wouldn't fret too much. I'm a Mariner fan, meaning my season ended around late April.

I actually don't think it will vastly affect park attendance if they make it.

:rolleyes1 I'm not a huge baseball fan, but I have to say, word around here is that it will be an all Chicago World Series.

Isn't there some saying about "not counting your chickens before their hatched."

I don't care one way or another, I'm rooting for the D-Backs, but some may think of predicting a world series appearance as a jinx.

I was at Disneyland the last time the Angels were in the World Series. There was no noticeable change as far as I could tell, in fact we forgot that they were playing at all until we saw a sign on the back of an airplane wishing them luck.

PADRES?? have you looked at any NL stats??? I believe they are no threat to being in the WS. . . but hey I'm a Dodger fan in this town full of pad fans! :rotfl2:

I hope kajcwman is right, for those dates, if the Angels do go. We will be arriving in Anaheim on the 30th.

I like baseball, but I am a SF Giants and NY Yankees fan. Any Yankee fans here???? I am asking cause I am wondering if you are familiar with my grandfather, Darryl Johnson. He played catcher for the Yankees in the late 50s along side Mickey Mantle. Then went on to be coach of the Red Sox, then worked for other teams as well. Ending his career as Bench Coach for the Mets. He was not the greatest baseball player, but he is still my grandpa:angel: .

DL held an Angels victory parade on Main Street a few days after the 2002 WS win - maybe you'd get to see that! But we're getting way ahead of ourselves... it has everything to do with which team is playing well at the end of the season.

That's when Disney owned the team and now Arte, who changed the name to Los Angeles Angels, owns it. There was poll on KLAA 830 AM the other day. If the Angels win the WS, where should the parade be? 80% Downtown LA won.

I've been a die hard Angels fan since 1976 and I remember 1995. The Angels had a 11 game lead late in the season and people were already talking about the WS. They lost to Seattle in a playoff game. So, yes, they aren't there yet. But..... :goodvibes

The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim sigh

Southern California geography class anyone??? (Sorry, that just BUGS me!)
