How will I get back to my hotel?

Specifically, I will be staying at Pop. If we take the bus to Epcot and then decide to go to Beaches & Cream at the Beach Club after IllumiNations, how will I get back to Pop?

Is there a bus that goes to Pop from Beach Club? Will Epcot let me back to the bus area there? How late will the busses run? Should I take a boat somewhere? Should I take my car in the morning? How would I get back to the car?

I don't want to be stranded or have to pay an expensive cab fare!

Option 1 - go to DHS or Epcot if they are open and take a bus from there

Option 2 - Take a bus from BC to DTD and then to POP

Option 3 - Take a taxi from BC

Duds

I'd recommend a cab, as it'll be the most direct route and the price really won't be too much ... it will probably less than $20 including tip from Beach Club to POP.

Depending how late you're around, you should be able to walk over to the Boardwalk and catch a bus to POP. They keep late buses runing til ~ 2 AM for the closing of Jellyrolls and the AC Dance Hall. They don't seem to advertise it, but I've used the late busses from time to time. I don't know what time these late buses start running though. The earliest I've caught them is around midnight

1) Check Park times, if DHS is still Open catch a boat over there and then a Bus to POP

2) Bus from Beach Club to DTD, Bus to POP

3) Taxi, Cost aprox. $20

We took two cabs during this last visit, and didn't find them to be expensive, especially given how FAST you get from point A to point B. Good value, in our opinions.

If I'm staying at POP and I'm at YC/BC/BW and can't get back to the buses at a park, I just take a cab. I think when we took one last, it was about $12, including the tip. So can't be much more than that nowadays. It's about an 8 min cab ride...these resorts are very close to each other.
If you choose not to use a cab, then you will have to get to an open park and transfer to a bus to Pop there. Or, just go directly to DTD and get the bus back to Pop from DTD.
A cab is really your best idea. I would imagine that Beaches and Cream will be somewhat crowded after IllumiNations. I have yet to find a time when it's easy/quick to get in there and grab a bite to eat!!! I've now given up!!

Thanks for all the tips, everyone!

If I take my car in the morning and park at Epcot, how will I get back to it after Beaches & Cream? Should I park somewhere else?

By that time, all of the parks will be closed. DHS-7pm, Epcot-9pm.

I would probably leave my car at DTD if anywhere then take a bus to Boardwalk and boat to Epcot then vice versa to your car. That could work. PLus no parking fee at DTD...I just don;t know how early buses start at DTD.

I, too, am thinking it'll be best to take the bus to Epcot in the morning and then after Beaches & Cream just pay for the short taxi ride back to Pop.

There will be no way for you to get from Beaches & Cream to Epcot's parking lot after IllumiNations. Well, you COULD do it but you'd have to pay for a taxi from Beaches & Cream to the Epcot parking lot. :-)

In other words, once Epcot is closed, they don't allow people to re-enter to walk through from the International Gateway to the front entrance/exit.

So if you really refuse to pay for a taxi, you're talking a bus to Downtown Disney and then a bus to Pop. This process will take at least an hour (including the waiting times). Personally, I'd spring for the 5-10 minute taxi ride instead ... vacation is such a nice time to splurge!

I would not park my car at Epcot because if the park is closed after you finish at Beaches and Cream you will have no way to get to your car.

Use DTD instead.

One night my family had a late reservation at Ohana, and by the time we were done it was late with no parks open still. We asked at the desk what we should do, and they got us back to POP from the POLY on a taxi at no cost to us. (We tipped the driver though). I am not sure exactly why or maybe it was just some extra magic for us, but there was 10 of us so we definitely appreciated whatever happened for us to get back there! So if all else fails then try and ask at the desk, and see what they recommend! :thumbsup2

Resort to Resort transporation is the most confusing but you can always transfer via a park or DTD. So if DHS is open (EMH?) you can walk/boat there and then take a bus back, otherwise DTD is your only option.

Parking at Epcot won't help because you won't be able to re- enter (again unless they have EMH that night). I always budget an extra $50 per trip for resort to resort cab rides - usually only use 1/2 of that. It helps that the Mears cabs take cc'ds :) but I always have emergency cash anyway.

Thanks again for all the tips, everyone! It's been a big help. Looks like I'll be cab-ing it... or going to Beaches & Cream another day! :rotfl:

Beaches & Cream is really crowded after Illuminations so another day/time may be your best bet for more than one reason.

Not during the day, but I've taken it before ... late night, WDW provides buses from the boardwalk area for the folks leaving from Jellyrolls and the Dance Hall. The buses may make multiple stops and it may take a while, but I've taken late night buses from the Boardwalk to Ft Wilderness, POP, and the Contemporary. No transfer to DTD was necessary, although the buses may also stop at DTD after the Boardwalk. The bus drivers usually just ask you where you are headed, and will take you to that resort.

I was thinking that too, tables are limited.

The previous poster was referring to the busses they run at closing time at Jellyrolls but I doubt the OP wants to wait that long.

Right. Based on my convoluted transportation options and after hearing how crowded Beaches & Cream will be after IllumiNations, I decided it's best to go to Beaches & Cream on a different day.

Thanks for all the help everyone!

Those buses run very late at night...probably not until way past midnight. Not a good option for those needing transportation around 10ish.

If you park at DHS you can walk back to your car from any of the Epcot area resorts at any time.

Just a suggestion.
