We just returned from a fabulous week in WDW - had an absolutely amazing time. How in the world am I going to be able to wait another year to do it all over again?

Seriously - for all you Disney veterans out there who go every year - how do you pass A WHOLE YEAR waiting?! I'm in Disney withdrawal!

Suggestions anyone? Is there some sort of Disney valium out there on the market that I don't know about?

I am in the same boat. Here are some ideas:

* scrap/photobook otherwise organize your photos from your just-past trip
* plan your next trip -- research hotels, restaurants, activities, etc.
* read guidebooks
* shop for Tink gifts
* do you need to upgrade luggage or cameras
* make autograph books/t-shirts for next trip
* read the boards every spare minute!

I don't. Because I can't. We're averaging twice a year if we can get a good discount code. Someone please kick me now for not buying DVC a loooong time ago!

We have it worse, we go every other year, well not really it is more like every 18 mos or so. We're going in April as DVC members for the first time. We haven't told anyone that we joined, because we're already getting - "What you're going again?" spiel. My reply is, "Yes until I have seen and done it all, we must return just so I can finally say I have completed something." :rotfl2: The truth be told we will never see or do it all. So were lifetime trippers just the way corporate Disney likes it. :thumbsup2

You can always buy a resale. We just did.

I know - I keep thinking about it, but I just can't wrap my head around $18K all at once + about $500/year for maintenance. We're a small family (3 of us) so a standard room at a deluxe has been fine for us so far...I keep trying to crunch numbers so it makes sense, but I can't get it to happen!

We shortened the wait....instead of once a year, we now go several times a year!! (DVC members since Fall 2006)

You can buy smaller resales. We just bought a resale for SSR for 160 points. It was about $12,000 in all. We had just about paid it in full and we put the rest on a very low interest credit card (just over $3,000). We intend to pay it off within 2 years. We look at it as we have a vacation destination up to 2054. If you are flexible with when you can go, then you can get a smaller membership.
