Haven't ridden this the last 3 trips because we've skipped AK. We are going in December. Obviously if it's cold, we will skip. I just can't remember if you're guaranteed to get soaked!

At least half (if not ALL) of the guests in a raft will be drenched, head-to-toe.

As though someone took a giant ice-cooler full of water and dumped over each their heads.

Yes. Guaranteed. Soaked to the skin. Wearing jean shorts is a bad idea if you are planning to ride Kali. They will be wet and icky all day. I'm a poncho girl, myself, but I still get wet.

One of our family of 7's favorite ride. We end up taking up almost the entire raft so we have a good perspective. Two of us always end up completely soaked as in not a dry stitch of clothing or skin on us. A couple of others will get considerably wet but not drenched. The other three will get sparsely wet - not much at all. It is completely random until you get to the drop. Whoever goes down the drop first is getting soaked. Great ride - enjoy!

I have seen anywhere from drenched to dry and that is on same raft same ride. it is the luck of the draw for that ride

DITTO!! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

And ditto to no jeans shorts. You will squish all day.

I agree - everyone in our raft got wet, but some more than others. I wore a disposable poncho when we went, no one else on our raft did, and I got the most drenched. I don't even know how it got up under my poncho but I was soaked! Oh well, I tried!

Fully dressed cannon ball into your pool, then get out, then go sit on a hard a resin chair in the hot sun for about 5 minutes. That is pretty much Kali.

My main objection to Kali is not how wet, although you do get drenched. It's that it's 1/2 an attraction. Originally (and you can still see some of the channels) it was suppose to loop though the Maharajah Jungle trek. Rumor is they were building it, and someone pointed out that the big cats don't like loud excited noises, so they would stay as far as they can from the river features/kali, and it would likely stress the animals. So they rerouted the attraction cutting out about 1/2 of it.

DD7 favorite ride. We always bring light weight cotton shirts, shorts and a pair if flips. We ride it 4-7 (this was the most ) times in a row. Then go into the restroom and bag up wet clothes and enjoy the day in our dry clothes. As PP said, at least 2 people are totally drenched.

We travel in December. This ride doesn't exist to us!

While I hate to complain about anything Disney, KRR is my most disappointing ride at any park. Way way too short, and the wetness seems really forced compared to other rapid-type rides I've been on.

If the poster above is correct, then I guess Disney had no real choice, but it's one I'd just as soon pass if the kids aren't begging.

As for the OP -- I've gotten drenched and came out dry. Just depends on the side. Because there's really only the one drop, once you're past it -- unless someone squirts you from the bridge, you're safe. Part of the reason it sort of sucks.

I am with OP, the ride is just not worth getting drenched. Plus, we always have a dinner ADR seems like, at Boma that evening.

Thanks everyone. I remember when we rode about 4 years ago my DH got soaked and I was dry. I wanted to confirm! Looks like we will be skipping KRR in December, unless it's an unseasonably warm 90 degrees! :)

Yes, totally soaked, embrace it! Don't be like my sister, grumpy in the ladies room afterwards trying to dry her clothes in the hand dryer! And yes, it is disappointingly short. It really seems like this ride should be much longer

We rode it this June. Got completely wet but it was very hot so we dried quickly. But I wouldn't bother with it again because not only is it very short, there is only one little drop. That's it. Very disappointing. :confused3

Is it possible to keep your shoes dry? I don't mind my clothes getting wet, but I'd prefer to keep my sneakers dry!

Umm if they let you take them off and put them in the center you might be able to keep your shoes dry. I say IF because I'm pretty sure there is a footwear rule on that attraction.

You are likely to get wet to the bone.

I managed to stay dry, but the ride is a real disappointment. One drop, too short, and totally blow away by the raft ride at another Orlando park. I personally won't be doing it again...

I've been on this ride twice since 1998 (date parked opened) and that was enough for me. Not a fan of being soaked and I don't mean wet from say Splash Mountain I mean soaked... I also don't enjoy to gamble so the whole you "may" walk out dry is a no go.

Having said that, the fact you have never ridden it you should try it at least once, just your going in December and well yeah.

There are signs saying you must keep your shoes on. However, your best chance of keeping your shoes dry is to put your feet up on the bar in the middle of the boat- not flat on the floor. I learned this from Grizzly River Rapids and it worked on Kali too. However, if you are the one who gets the water just poured on, nothing will help.
