How Wet Does One Get On Kali River Rapids?

Hmmm, How wet are you going to get? Let me see....

Well Sit next to me LoL & you'll come off the ride wetter than if you just showered.....It's a running joke now, for people that want & don't want to sit near me on this ride.....I'm always the person going down that last drop ( BACKwards ) therefore...SOAKED!!!:confused3

This is me. Doesn't matter where I sit, I get drenched. lol

I have to tell this story. My daughter and I rode Kali early one morning. Barely a splash the first trip. We were going to get off and another rider made a comment....you have to stay on 'til you get wet. The lines has just started to form but the operator let us stay on. Well our second trip was the soaker....I kid you not, we were totally drenched! When we got off the people in line were staring at us! YES...PEOPLE I'M WET!!! It was a hot day and I had on outdoor quick dry clothing so it was not too bad. The funny part.....2 days later at SeaWorld on Journey to the Atlantis, same thing! In the front boat....a wave dumps in your lap! I think we will skip both in November!

That is a favorite ride of DD20. We would go every trip and without fail she would be the one soaked. I have pictures of her dripping wet.

When we last went as family, in Nov 2011, for the first time she was dry and I was soaked. She got a good laugh out of it.

I don't like the water cannons at the end that the guests on the bridge can shoot riders with. Totally unnecessary in my book.

As long as you don't sit my me, you should be fine. XD None of my family will sit near me on Kali River Rapids because I swear I am cursed when it comes to that ride. I get soaked EVERY TIME!!

Fully dressed cannon ball into your pool, then get out, then go sit on a hard a resin chair in the hot sun for about 5 minutes. That is pretty much Kali.

My main objection to Kali is not how wet, although you do get drenched. It's that it's 1/2 an attraction. Originally (and you can still see some of the channels) it was suppose to loop though the Maharajah Jungle trek. Rumor is they were building it, and someone pointed out that the big cats don't like loud excited noises, so they would stay as far as they can from the river features/kali, and it would likely stress the animals. So they rerouted the attraction cutting out about 1/2 of it.

I've never heard that before. It's interesting because when I rode it remember thinking it was awful short for a river rapid ride.

At least half (if not ALL) of the guests in a raft will be drenched, head-to-toe.

As though someone took a giant ice-cooler full of water and dumped over each their heads.

That is a pretty good description of what happens to those in the wrong (or right, depending on your view) place in the raft. I have gone and gotten barely wet at all and on the very next trip was dumping the water out of my shoes. My family doesn't mind getting wet when we go.

Plan on getting very wet, especially if your back is turned at the bottom of the last hill.:thumbsup2
