How wet do you get on Splash Mnt and Kali Rapids?

I don't want to walk around wet for hours (it will be in Feb so no heat to dry us quickly) and I am wondering if we should leave these attractions for the end of the day before we leave...

We got really wet on Splah Mountain and quite wet on Kali River Rapids. We usually take a change of clothes and leave them in a locker and that way we can go on when we like.

At Splash Mountain, you get wet, but not bone-drenchingly wet (except for maybe the front row). You should dry up pretty quickly after riding.

On Kali, you will get soaked (some more than others). The water just splashes from everywhere. One side of the raft gets water completely cascading over them when you go down one of the hills (it always seems to be me when I'm on it--so if you don't want to get wet, invite me on your trip, and sit on the opposite side of the raft as me). I usually wear sandals that day because your feet will get drenched (even if you put them up on the footbar provided).

We took those throw away ponchos with us in case of rain and threw them on just before we got on Kali. It's one of those "you will get wet, you may get soaked" rides. We always came out dry but we got the experience of all the water coming down on us.
If you've never been on Kali, it's got to be the best themed water ride I've ever seen. The back side of the ride is really unexpected, but really cool.

I was the only one in our family who got really wet on Splash - and it didn't have anything to do with the flume. Just as the ride was starting, one of those random jets of water that are sprayed into the air came down in my lap - and I sat in a good-sized puddle for the rest of the ride. I wasn't uncomfortable walking around later - though I was glad I had worn navy blue shorts!

Disneymoon04 - We often go to WDW in the cooler weather, so we also don't look forward to walking around soaked. We wear ponchos on Splash Mountain, and usually emerge in a somewhat damp, but manageable state (especially if you avoid the front seat). The main problem is that sometimes the seat you're about to sit in has a large puddle on it already.

Traditionally we save Kali for the last half hour AK is open. At that time we've always been able to ride 4 or 5 times in succession without having to leave the ride. Even if you wear a poncho, after 4 or 5 rides you are absolutely, positively, jumped-in-a-pool-with-all-your-clothes-on wet. At that point we discard our T-shirts and pull on dry sweatshirts to leave the park. However, if we were headed anywhere other than our hotel, we'd take along a complete change of clothes.

Thanks for the info everyone! I think we'll keep the rides to the end of the day AND bring a poncho!

We got soaked on Kali!
My 4 year old DD and I were the only 2 on the raft that got really wet (my father in law didn't get a drop). When I say soaked, I mean, jumped in a pool with you clothes on soaked! I've never been on a ride that dumped that much water on you. We were not just spashed, we got water dumped on us from a water fall or something (could really see as we were going up a hill backwards).

If I ever go on it again, I will definitely bring a change of clothes...

There used to be some big blow dryers as you came out of Kali, on your right side. Are they still there? They wouldn't completely dry you, but they help.

They were out in our last trip as well, which was November.

They were huge blow dryers, which me and my son stood by and we did get our shirts dry.. (Tshirts).

If it were me, I would wear quick dry shorts (I have a few pairs), and my bathing suit.

I hated Kali. I thought the ride was severely lame (similar to POTC in severity, ie not a thrill ride at all), and they had stuff that was designed to just get you wet without any other point to it at all. I got SOAKED, like others said, jump-in-the-pool soaked. Doubt I'll ever do it again.

it really depends. both dh and i have been on kali and splash and walked off mostly dry. otoh, we've also walked off both with water literaly dripping off of us.

wear the poncho, especially on kali.

I also think it depends...we walked off splash mountain completly dry last week and then it downpoured and soaked us to the bone, LOL!

My family thought you got more drenched on Popeye& Blotos Bilge -Rat Barges ...at I.O.A. We loved them all !!take care cheffy:bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

Wetest ride we have ever been on was BTMRR......

The sky opened up and it rained so hard i had to keep my eyes closed. By the time we got off the ride you would of thought we jumped in a pool with our clothes on.

After that it rained pretty much all day. After a few hours we went to the resort and showered and changed. Thank God it quit raining because it was e-nite and we had already bought our tickets.

DS 7 likes to take me to Splash Mountain late at night, we go over Christmas and MK is open till midnight. Not much of a line but it is cool at night. I grab a few paper towels from the men's room and give the seat a quick wipe so I am not soaking up the water already there. After that it all a matter of being in the right place at the right time.

Splash Mtn - not to bad.

Kali - I was absolutly drenched!! Thank goodness I left my sneakers w/ dh (we swapped cause DD was to young). Not a dry spot anywhere on on body. I was so wet, I might as well have jumped into the river!! *LOL*

Never did splash mountain. Don't like free fall drops. Also never did Tower of Terror for the same reason. Kali river rapids will drench you! You will be soaked to the skin!

First of all....Congratulations on your up-coming marriage! it's a wonderful thing.

Second...I've never gotten REALLY we on Splash Mountain and I've been both in front and back. I've had more water slosh up the sides then actually go over the top.

Khali River Rapids was a BLAST! We went the first week of June 2000 and got SOAKED! there are all kinds of eddies and holes to get sucked into and you also can get scooched under a water fall.
luckilly they have a little container in the middle of your raft to put your items in that can't get wet. We're going in December so I'm not so sure I'll be riding that one unless it's really warm.\
again, Congrats and have fun! Helen::Pinkbounc :bounce: :earsgirl: :earsboy: :earsboy:

Ok, When we rode Splash Mtn. in the June heat we barely got wet. Last December at MVMCP when it was about 50 degrees we got soaked!!:D
Right before the Parade even!
My suggestion would be to make it your last ride since you will be there in February.
