How wet do you get on rides-going in December

I have to agree with you. Rode it both days we were at the park and they put my big butt right in front each time. I'm not complaining as I'm the one that went back for more. Will just be better prepare this next trip.

My husband has flat out declared he will never ride this ride again, that is how wet we've gotten the last few times we've ridden it. I used to ride Splash all the time and it was fine... a little wet but you were dry a few hours later. I wonder why they had to make this a soaker. We already have GRR for that.

They actually made it a soaker before the retheme when they changed out the boats or something and they just don't flow quite the same as they used to or something. My last few rides on Splash is when I got big-time soaked!

Also, just a note this only applies to the Disneyland verison of the ride. Tiana's at WDW does not get you soaked, but it uses bigger boats that seat side-by-side. You can still get a good splash, but it's nothing like where that huge wave engulfs the boat and leaves inches of water on the floor.

Yeah I had noticed it got wetter but we still rode it, just avoided row 1. This past trip though? INSANE.

I have seen people walking off Tiana’s who look like they dove fully clothed into the Rivers of America, were rescued by the guests paddling the Davy Crockett’s Explorer Canoes, and were deposited on the dock where you catch the ferry over to Tom Sawyer’s Island.

No matter the time of year, you must always be prepared to be completely drenched if you wish to brave Tiana’s (or Grizzly River Run).

How bad is Grizzly River these days? I haven't been on it in over a decade and I can't remember how wet I got back then. Soaked? A little wet? Wet shoes?

With rides like that it can be hit or miss. The raft rotates around, so a wave could miss you or hit you square-on. You could definitely get totally soaked in that case. One thing I learned the last time I rode Kali River Rapids (similar ride at Animal Kingdom at WDW), is that if the boat isn't very full, you are much less likely to get hit with big waves. I rode it a couple of times first thing in the morning before it got busy, and it wasn't bad at all (three to four people in the boat). Grizzly is a bit of a longer ride though so there are more opportunities to get it, but that's something to know. They do have courtesy lockers you can use for the ride - they really need to add some to Tiana's!
