How to use a code?

I know you have to enter it somewhere when you book

However: if I book now, without a code, can I then add a code for a better deal later on? Or do I just wait until they release codes? Or just book now and don't look out for codes anymore?

This is the first time I book a WDW-vacation through WDW's website, and I'm rather confused.

It all depends on what type of code you are using. I certainly wouldn't wait until codes come out to book, because then you may not be able to get the dates you want. If the code is already out, then you need to call right away. I think it is better to call WDW than to book with the website, because I like to be able to talk to someone about what I want. If you are talking about the current code, you can pull it up under Special Offers on the website, then put in your dates to find out what is available. I would need more info to be able to be more specific.
