How to switch ADR from party of 5 to 4

I have afew ADR's I need to change from 5 people to 4 people, can I just call and ask them to change it? Is there a chance I could lose the ADR? I would be charged for a no-show for that one person, is that correct?

If even one person shows up, you will not be charged for the no show.

Actually you can modify an ADR. You just go to MDE, under your reservation, and there is an icon to "change" reservation. Tap that and change your number from 5 to 4. IF it is not a prepaid ADR (like CRT, is) you should be able to lower the number of guests. If it says no more ADRs available, just keep your ADR for 5 and show up with 4 people.
This will not work on a prepaid ADR though.

Thanks for the replies! I'll try the modify but since they're somewhat popular ADR's (Ohana and BoG lunch) I might not be able to since I doubt there are open ADR's available.

I just did a practice one to make sure you could still do it.
I did Boma for 5 people for tomorrow night. I then went in, hit the "change" icon. When I changed number of guests to 4 pm, it did offer me more choices of times, but one was the exact same time.
I've done this with a several of our ADRs over the past with little or no difficulty. It's when you try to ADD people you run into trouble.
So technically you are correct, but they allow you to downsize.

We've never had a problem showing up with 1 or 2 people fewer. Sometimes someone in our party isn't feeling good, or can't make it for whatever reason. Never any issues.

Yep- as others said, we have had less show up for an ADR if they couldn't make it and you aren't charged. As long as someone shows up you're fine.

Also, we've had a last minute illness keep us from keeping an ADR, and I called to cancel. I was prepared to pay the fee, but they waived it. I was very appreciative!

you can always call and ask them to modify from 5 to 4, which ive done as well as modified myself on MDE.
