I've been looking through my pictures of WDW, and I realized I haven't the first idea how to scrapbook the parade pictures I have. I have quite a few, too! If anyone has any suggestions or layouts they can post, I would love to see and hear what you guys do. I just have so many pictures of the parades, and I don't want it to take up too many pages in my album! I just need some help! Thanks!

Kristin

how about a mosaic? (can't say I've tried this, but it looked really cool in the scrapbook magazine I just picked up) It reminded me of a tile table, you have the grid and then just fit the pictures in. I think the magazine was called fast and easy scrapbooking, or something along those lines, I'll find it once I drop my dd off at school. :D maggie

I've done parades in a couple of ways. First, I run the pictures of the floats back and forth across the page with comments underneath. Another is just putting them sort of "free form" on the layout with some of the individual characters silhouetted around those pictures.

When I did the 100 Years MK Parade, I made a couple of pp snowglobes to put the actual parade snowglobes in, and then punched confetti to look like the stuff that flies around inside the globes and scattered it on the pages.

I wish I could come up with something more creative, but I guess these ideas work for me 'cuz I've used them on more than one parade layout! ;)

I scrap mine a little differently than most people. I take pictures of everything during the parades and want to use all of my pictures. So, I tend to closely trim all my parade pictures since they all have the same background. Then use a background that matches the individual picture. Then mount them all on neutral background paper. it tends to look very busy, but I love it that way.

I put on the top Disney Parade put the pictures like this

then me and my big ideas stickers of people with a paper pieced gray sidewalk with light posts at the bottom it was like the stickers were standing on the sidewalk watching the parade
at the bottom of the page. :) Brookescraps

you can see one of mine here

Page 1 Left page 1 right Page 2 left page 2 right

The title is on the outside 2 pages, and the middle page is cut down so that you can see it when you turn the page. You can kind of see what I mean on page 2 left because the page's didn't line up well in the scanner.

I did this quite a long time ago, so I would probably do something slightly different now, but I like the way the title covers 4 pages.

When I scrap a parade, I always find the announcers opening lines and include them in the journaling. You can always find them somewhere on the web. Just put Disney and the name of the parade in your favorite search engine. I use Yahoo most often.

I crop all of the pictures into squares, then fit them all onto a two page spread. I leave a gap of about 1/2 cm in between all of the pictures. Any areas with no pictures I choose a color of paper to complement all of the pictures and crop it to fit the empty space. It looks really good. I have done this with the safari pics too using animal print paper. It worked really well.

Here's my two layouts...

WOW! Those two layouts are wonderful! They are full of lots of time & energy!!

Timon,
I really like your pages. What fonts are those? Are they stickers? They're perfect for the layouts.

Thanks for the compliments!

FONTS:
The first one is ANNA, (also called tomorrowland sometimes) it is the same font used in the parade and on the Disney Cruise Line. The second is called JUNGLE LEAVES.

You can do a search on YAHOO for both the fonts and get them free on the internet!

I am just about to do the new snowglobe parade. Now I have some great ideas to work with.

thanks

Timon: your pages are awesome. They certainly manage to squish the entire parade down into two pages! I'm really impressed! If you have any other parade pages, I would love to see them! Heck, I'd love to see anyone's pages of anything! I love getting ideas from others!

One more thing, Timon: How did you scan your pages? Or did you photograph them? Just curious!

Everyone have a good day!

Kristin

ilovebelle,

thanks! No more parades pages but I have most of my albums posted on my website. Just click on the link below and follow Scrapbooking.

I used a digital camera to take photos of my layouts for the most part. My earlier albums were photographed by a regular camera then I scanned the picture and cropped it.
