How to Ride Hagrid's Without Cell Phone in Parks

Confused about VQs. We have been to UO 20+ times but have never used VQ as we don't take our phones to the parks and it has never been required before for us. How do we ride Hagrid's (VQ) and possibly Velocicoaster if it uses VQ and we leave our phones in the hotel safe? Is there a way to ride without using VQ or do we have to start taking our phones in order to get in the queue? Thanks.

Hagrids opens every day to standby if it is running properly. sometimes if it is EE at IOA, it goes to vq prior to regular park opening. I believe their are team members at the front gates with ipads that you could go to for help, but they don't drop VQ times all the time, they are only at set windows (like 9:00, 11:00, 2:00, etc.) You might want to bring one phone with you to use the app, especially since so many of the QS food is done via mobile order now.
