How to keep connecting doors open?

Does anyone have any good ideas for keeping connecting doors between staterooms open?

Yes, as your stateroom host for door stoppers!
We had no idea we could ask for those and didn't bring anything. We left the doors unlocked but ofcourse they shut on their own. I'm sure our neighbors just LOVED the THUNK of the door everytime someone went thru those doors (thunk because the lock was out- otherwise they wouldn't be able to go back thru!)
After a few nights- some other passengers on the cruise (total strangers- God love them!) we were chatting with happened to mention we could ask for the door stoppers. I can't even remember how we ended up talking about that. But sure enough- went straight back to the room and called to ask for them and lickity split they brought us 2 door stoppers. They held both doors open the rest of the cruise. No more THUNK.

I had packed some twine and that worked out great to keep them open

we stuck the little ottomans in front of each door-they were there anyway-so they were not really in the way-worked great

We use these ugly gawdy headbands. What we do is, tie them to our luggage (for easy identification), and then we use them to tie the two door handles together, and this way there are no ACCIDENTS, BOO BOOS or door stoppers that people kick.. When we are ready to pack up, we then reuse them as luggage whatevers

My DH unhooked the pneumatic arm (that's what he called it-I called it the door thingy that keeps making it slam) , no tools required and that made them stay open. We also had bungy cords to hold it open when the water was rough and the doors were swinging!

We also used the doorstops provided by our stateroom host. He brought them without us even asking as soon as he realized our two groups were together. They worked just fine.

The door stops the room steward gave us were worn out and the doors would close once in a while. On the next cruise I bought some new ones of our own.

Bungy cords work great. No big deal to pack.

Both times we used bungee cords, they work MUCH better than the door stops. For some reason, (maybe ours were worn out) after awhile our door would shut when using the door stops.

We used rope and it worked perfect. However, our steward came in with door stops and took off the rope. This actually worked out much better as we could close the doors easily for some privacy, but open them later.

We had no problem with the door stops provided by DCL. If you do hae a problem, just ask for new ones.
