Hello.
O.K, here is my situation. We plan on having one "off day" where we hit the resort pool, relax, go to downtown Disney after the kid's naps, etc. We have the dining plan and no car so we will be relying on POP century/disney transportation where we are staying. If we leave the resort say around 5 that evening and go to DTD and shop for a bit, how long of a walk is it from DTD to the boardwalk area where Spoodles and ESPN are located, is it REALLY far? Are ESPN and Spoodles close together? We can PS for Spoodles but not ESPN so we will probably decide that night depending on crowds where we want to eat. Is there a better way to get there? Should we bypass DTD until after dinner? If so, how do we get from the Boardwalk to DTD to shop? Any help with this would be most appreciated. THANKS!
Lesley

you can get on a bus either to or from Downtown Disney to a Boardwalk hotel
you cant walk from Downtown Disney to the Boardwalk area
cant go hotel to hotel - from a hotel need to either go to a park or Downtown disney and then switch to other hotel - think of Boardwalk area as a set of hotels not an entertainment district

Take a bus from POP to the studios and then either walk or take the boat. From DTD just take a bus to BWV.

It is better to eat first at Spoodles/ESPN, then go to DTD to shop.

As the previous poster said, take a bus from POP to MGM. Either walk or take the boat to BWI (BWI is the third stop) Walking will probably be 15-20 minutes. Boat will be 20-25 minutes.

Spoodles and ESPN are about 2 minutes apart (1 minute if you walk fast). After you walk off the boat dock, turn left. You will see, Flying fish, Seashore Sweets,Spoodles, Bakery, ESPN Arcade, and ESPN.

After dinner, you can take a bus from BWI to DTD. After shopping, take a bus from DTD to POP.

Thank you, I appreciate it. I didn't realize a boat ran from MGM to the Boardwalk area, you learn something new every day. Where does it pick up at?

When you get off the bus at MGM, as you head towards MGM you will see water on your right. Follow the water around to the boat dock.

I just wanted to add that the Friendship boats run between the Studios and Epcot throughout the day. They stop at the Beach/Yacht clubs, Boardwalk, Swan/Dolphin along the route. The Epcot entrance is the International Gateway which leaves you in World Showcase.
I also recommend that you eat first and then you can catch a bus to Downtown Disney from any of the hotels in the boardwalk area.

Thanks , I think I have a plan now. We have hoppers for every day so even on our "day off" we were planning on catching something. So. . .we'll probably hop on the bus from pop around 4:30, then pop into MGM for the Stars and Motor Cars Parade (it was around 5:30 last year) then hop on the boat from MGM to the boardwalk for dinner at Spoodles. After dinner we'll hop on the bus to DTD to do some shopping. Thanks so much for your assistance with this. The transportation sure can get confusing. Thanks.
