We usually take a taxi to Premium Outlets but this year would like to go to Florida Mall as well. Can anyone tell me where it is & how to get there?

If you are staying on I drive the Lynx 42 bus will take you out to Florida Mall. It also goes to Premium and Prime outlet malls. If you google Lynx bus Orlando you will be able to see all the routings and find out which one works best. Alternative is just to get a taxi, think we were around 20-25 bucks from Disney last time, although it would have been a few years ago.

Catch the 111 from the TTC if you're at Disney. Otherwise the 42 from I-Drive or indeed from the Premium Outlets.

Does the 111 go direct from TTC to Florida Mall?

DD and I are staying in Boardwalk / OKW without a car and plan to go to Florida Mall, so are looking at the best way to get there.

Yes, it's direct. It also stops at DTD Westside if that's more convenient.

The public transport system in Orlando is outstanding, excellent value ($2 for a single trip) and underused. :thumbsup2

I've done my last two trips ENTIRELY using public transport; our total travel costs including four taxi rides (when it was after midnight or pouring with rain) for two adults for 11 days last year were $70. Parking alone during that trip would have been over $120. I'd be happy to write an information thread regarding the buses if the mods would like a new sticky thread?

Thanks for the help. We are staying at SSR, so we could get the bus from DD or taxi to PO then bus to FM.

I would find that helpful!! :)

That's a great idea! I hadn't heard much about the Lynx buses until a few days ago, but I wouldn't have a clue as to whuch number goes where and where to board them from.

Still trying to decide whether to hire a car or not this trip, so any information would be good :)

I would love to see a thread on Lynx. So many people think you cannot survive in Orlando without Mears or a hire car.

We are big fans of the system, in 13 years we have never hired a car!!

Does the 111 run frequently? Also, it doesn't go through anywhere dodgy does it? :rotfl:

The 111 runs pretty much every 30 minutes from 5am to 11pm.

The Lynx buses are very safe. To get to the Florida Mall from the TTC the bus runs via DTD, the I4, the area around Sea World and out to the mall. It then travels onto the airport. None of those areas are 'dodgy' - it's basically the tourist trail. If you're still worried, check out this link on their webpage. They suggest basic precautions that anyone should take on public transport in the UK or anywhere else in the world.

I would be happy to write a help thread, especially if people like barnaby1 are willing to help fill in the gaps in my knowledge?

Thank you for the info. :)

I would welcome a sticky on this subject.

I've checked out the map for the 111 route and can see the main stops :) Is there somewhere (website map, maybe?) that would show the stops in between, such as between TTC / DTD WestSide / Hotel Paza Boulevard?

They stop pretty much every block or two along those routes on request.

Thanks for the info, :thumbsup2 I think it would be great to have a sticky on transport I know I have been 9 times and didn't know we could have got the bus to the Florida Mall, but I am sure we will be doing that in September.

Still on using the buses, does anyone know which Wal-Mart is easiest to get to by bus?

I know a 56 going to Osceola Square Mall from the TTC will take you to the Walmart along the 192. The route actually finishes only a stop or 2 past it so you don't even have to worry much if you miss your stop (if that sort of thing worries you).

It was very straightforward when we did it a few years back before getting a car though very slow - think you're talking 30-40 mins each direction.

Being obsessive/compulsive :upsidedow where is the 111 stop in DTD Westside? Is this the only stop at DTD or does it stop at Marketplace, too?

Thanks so much for any help :flower3:

It stops just over the road from the market place. The signs for the stops have a pink paw on them.
