How to get permanent marker off the dog?

I understand. When DD was 2 she went in the laundry room and closed the door. Nothing out of the ordinary, she likes to play in there. I realized she had been too quiet in there. I opened the door to find her painting our beagle with a foam paintbrush and hot pink craft paint. :scared1: She didn't get the paint on anything else but the dog. The dog had pink highlights for about a month. I tried to get most of it off with baby wipes but the stuff that had already dried was set. Needless to say DH doesn't put the paint the laundry room closet anymore.

I say wash the dog the best you can and just let it grow out. The top of the dogs head took the longest to grow out.

Don't know about the marker thing...but the dog sure looks decrative!

Have to say, I loved your blog page...and your music choices...I kept the page up so I could keep listening to BarlowGirl!!

So I thought I would share.

When DD was about 4 or 5 she somehow managed to get gum in the dogs fur. Not so bad except we have white shih tzus! No big, they were due for a grooming anyway..at $45.00 each :scared1: A few weeks later...more gum!!! All ground into the fur on her ear, so now I'm upset. I cut it out myself ( certainly not going to the groomer again so soon at those prices!) but I told DD that she was no longer allowed to have gum and to be more careful around our pets..or else!! Well, ofcourse, it happens again a few weeks later ( little booger had a secret stash of juicy fruit!) . Now she remembers once, when she got some in her hair, DH got it out with peanut butter. So...can you guess what happens next????

I walk into the room with the dog COVERED in an entire jar of Skippy.
I didn't know whether to laugh or cry!!!

Let's just say that DD never had a problem with her gum again!!!

Actually, the dog looks quite content!

33 years ago, when we were quite young & poor, my husband was painting our house blue. Our little black dog somehow manged to knock over the open paint can & doused herself in blue paint! She sported the lovely blue shade for quite a while but it did eventally grow out. My husband was not happy as he had to buy more paint...:thumbsup2

It actually wears off pretty quickly. When DD was 2, she wrote me a note. On our yellow lab. With a black sharpie.

Same dog also walked around with a paint stain directly between her eyes because she walked into a paint roller. Then she went and laid down so no one noticed till it was too late. It was green paint, so it was a tad noticable.

And the having a dog covered in marker is better than having a 3 yr old walking around with large blue polka dots ( no I didn't learn to put the markers up high enough ) from her forehead to her ankles. That doesn't wear off a child as nearly as quickly as it does a dog. :rotfl2:

:rotfl2: Thanks for all the tales of similar stories guys! It's good to know that I'm not alone!! :rotfl2:
