How to get permanent marker off the dog?

:lmao: Well, it is becoming funnier the more I read it. And the more I look at the dog. Everytime she walks by my lil' one says "Doggie...marker...pretty" :sad2:

haha...just the subject of this made me laugh out loud. :rotfl2:

I don't have any suggestions for you though. Last spring my cat wandered into the fireplace and came out all covered in soot. Nothing I used got it off so he had grey spots instead of white spots for a month or so.

:lovestruc How could you wash away that? ;) Be sure to take lots of pics.

I think he looks cute. My son (who is now 30) cute the whiskers off our cat when he was young. Took a long time before the cat would go through the pet door, since she couldn't feel the sides anymore. At the time, I wasn't happy (hubby was babysitting), but now it's part of our family stories.

:rotfl: Does this bring back memories! LOL!

We had a beautiful male Irish setter, named Clancy. While my mother was at work my brother decided to give the dog a Mohawk thinking it would be cool. Well, I being the oldest figured I was going to "get it" & tried to fix the problem by shaving all his hair off his back to even it out. (I was only about 10) Thinking no one would notice, my younger sister then took a red marker to draw hair in so no one would notice.
Yes, nail polish remover took the red off the dog's skin & what was left of his hair. The vet said that it wouldn't harm him unless he drank the whole bottle. (from what I remember)
Since it was a joint effort, we all got to go to bed at 6PM for a week with no TV for 2 weeks. We renamed Clancy, Mr. T for a few weeks & got him a gold chain collar until his hair grew back.

Take lots of pictures. This is just calling to be a scrapbook layout. Can you tell that I'm a scrapbooker?

Seriously, I'd just let it wear off. You'll be laughing about it years from now.

Very cute pic of the dog! I am with the others who said that time is the best way to go. My dog, Turtle, got an ink pen one night. When I came downstairs the next morning, I could not figure out why his lips, "hands" and face were all blue (as he sat there, wagging his tail and "grinning" at me!) :rotfl2: That's when I saw my carpet ----blue ink in blobs all around him. Who would have thought that ONE ink pen could have that much ink in it! :lmao: :lmao:
I called the vet because I was afraid Turtle would get sick from the ink on his lips. The vet's advice - leave it alone after washing with a little soap and water to get anything that was not yet dry (most was dry already of course). Most of it came out after a couple of weeks. The carpet, on the other hand, did not fare so well and we had to replace it.

I couldn't get angry with him - it was our own fault for leaving a pen where he could get it. Lesson learned and a great memory, even now, 3 years after it happened!

You will have a great story to rermind your children of when they grow up!! Life is good....:)

Oh geez....I've been laughing since page one! Poor puppy! Give him lots of snuggles and brushing.

To the mom of the middle schooler who colored her hair...there's a reason I don't keep any Sharpies in my classroom!

:lmao: This has to be one of the funniest things I've read in a while!:rotfl2: Sorry OP! :flower3:

HAIR SPRAY!!!

I'm surprised only one other person said it. Hair spray dissolves a Sharpie marker. Spray on, wait a couple seconds as you see the marker break down, & blot with paper towels or some absorbent rags. Since it's made for hair, it shouldn't hurt the dog & will come out with shampoo. Just shampoo really well afterwards & keep repeating, hair spray, blot & shampoo.

That is to funny! Are you sure you don't have my 2 yr old living with you? i better go hide any writing utensils before I let the dog in tonight!:lmao:

Alcohol is the only thing I know will remove perm marker and I don't know if I would suggest that one, althogh it would also get rid of any flea or tick problems too!

I say give him the rest of the markers in the box and finish the artwork :thumbsup2 There is plenty of canvas to work with yet ;)

Or, get some brown hair dye and dye over the artwork :lmao:

Seriously, it will fade after time and shed off too:)

I enjoyed your blog and I totally agree with your American Pride post about tattered flags :thumbsup2

Thanks for the chuckle-well thank Max :rotfl:

Thanks for all the tips everyone. :goodvibes :flower3:
I'll be taking her to the dog wash tomorrow and then dowsing her in hydrogen proxide, nail polish remover, hair spray and maybe some white shoe polish. ;)

I don't have any advice for you.... but thanks for the chuckle. Be sure to get lots of pics to show your "artist" when she is older. :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl:

I have tears in my eyes from laughing so loud!

I just turned to my dog who is sitting quietly with me in the chair and said, aren't you glad that you don't live with little ones?

She wagged her tail at me.

That is such a precious story though! All in all, a multicolored dog isn't the end of the world. It will give you a good story to tell when people as what happened!
