How to get from resort to Boardwalk?

What's the best way to get from our resort (we're staying at WL if that makes a difference) to the Boardwalk in the afternoon. We want to "stroll the boards", see some of the shops, maybe get some ice cream at Seashore Sweets, then go in the International Gateway for Illuminations.

Fastest way is a cab or car; fastest Disney way is bus to MGM and then walk over or take boat to BW.

I also agree take a bus to MGM and then walk the 12 min stroller to Boardwalk...It is a very nice walk...

Can you walk to Boardwalk from Epcot? Would this also be an option? This is what I am planning to do. Thanks,,,,Corvair

Boardwalk is a short walk from Epcot's International Gateway exit, there is also a boat there.

You can walk from Epcot to BW. However, if you are coming from a resort other than an Epcot resort you would take a bus to the Epcot front entrance. You then need to walk through Epcot to the International Gateway exit near the United Kingdom (about a 20 minute walk) and then walk from that exit to BW (another 10 minutes) or take the boat.
