How to get a good rate?

We have been bumped from Caribbean Beach Resort at Disney due to rehab. Called Universal 800# and the rate at RPH (the least expensive?) was not great.......$176.49 king, water view AAA rate. We don't even have AAA right now, but will purchase if it's a good deal!

I did ask for Entertainment and it was not available. Our dates are 10/22-10/24, 2 nights.

Any tips to getting a better rate? Does calling the hotel directly on the 407 # result in lower rates?

Call to see if the Hard Rock hotel has the "all access" rate available. If the code rate is available, book your nights & then go to the Hardrock website & sign up for their all access card. It will cost $24.95 but, you will get $20 in food credit (on your card) & a few neat surprises ( we got a hat & keychain). The rate we have for late Sept is $129 per night.

Decided to call 800-UESCAPE and check, same thing, but I happend to get a wonderful older lady who offered to look for other rates. It so happens that the ENT Rate requires a 3-day minimum stay, and they did have the $99 available for 10/13 - 10/15. Great.

If you can extend your stay by another night, you may be able to get the entertainment rate. Another special noted by someone was at PBH - buy 3 nights & get the fourth night free on Expedia.com. Again, it would require a longer trip (but would that really be so bad?? )

I just call the Loews toll free number and ask them to check AAA, Entertainment, Fan Club...and let me know what has the best rate. The better rates for RP seem to have a 3 night minimum. Hard Rock tends to book faster than PBH, it's possible you'll get better rates at PBH than HRH. Also try some of the consolidators (www.quickbook.com for example).

I agree, call and ask if Fan Club Membership rates are available on your dates, those rates are sometimes very good. If you need help getting a Fan Club card, I or someone else here can help you with that. But book the room first if available, you don't need the card to make the reservation. You will need the Fan Club Memebership card when you check in.
