How to get a AAA Membership discount (so I can use for a room discount!)??

Any luck using any codes/other ways to get a discount on a AAA membership for Texas? I think it will save us some money on our RA reservation, but need to get the membership! Thanks!

Our AAA membership is $70 a year. Definitely pays for itself with resort discounts. Also, I always seem to need my car towed at least once a year. Now that really makes it worth it!

I don't think they offer discounts, but it wouldn't hurt to ask.

This worked for me today for Texas. Got a basic new membership for $52 for a year (I did not auto-renew for next year, but if I did, could have saved another $4.50). Waived $20 new member activation fee, waived $27 fee to add an additional adult. Not sure if it works for other states, but worked for me. Then I turned around and used it to book a 2 bedroom villa at BLT for late April/early May. Got 20% rack rate!! So for $52 out of pocket for the AAA membership, I saved almost $1550 over the 7 nights! Awesome!

Here in AAA Mid Atlantic if you book a package over $1500 I believe-- then membership is $12 for the first year.

Good to know. I booked room-only directly with Disney, using the AAA discount, as we need some flexibility on moving the dates around and didn't want to be locked into a package (through AAA or Disney travel).

But in general, are the discounts the same across the board? Or will the percentage off of a room and room availability for that discount vary by region too?

Can you tell me how you were able to do that? I looked on the website and only see how to book through directly through AAA, which I don't want to do. How do I find out what the discount would be before purchasing a membership?

The website for my region is very confusing and some of the links aren't working. I'm going to call them today but wanted to get more information here before I did. TIA

If you want a package and get the AAA discount, you must use an AAA agent. I've encountered good ones and bad ones, in person and on the phone. I don't book with one I don't like.

If you are using AAA to book room only, you can call Disney direct yourself or use a non-AAA agent.

I just called WDW main reservations number, gave my dates and room type and resort. They gave me the price with a AAA discount over the phone (and I had already found out the rack rate by looking on the WDW website for my dates) and confirmed my room, my resort, my dates were available under AAA discount (%off varies by resort, room type, dates). Availability is limited, so I was just like you, wanted to know what the % off was and if it was actually available before I enrolled in AAA. They would not hold the AAA discount room for me without my AAA number and expiration date, so had to hang up, figure out how to get my AAA membership (instantly showed me my temp card for AAA which had my number and expiration date after I enrolled in AAA online). Called right back to WDW and got the room reserved!

To find AAA discount code for membership in your state, google "AAA discount code <your state>". Hope that helps. Slick deals has lots of info on AAA discounts for different states. Notably, the thread that contained the link for the Texas discount was from 2010, but the code was still valid. So I guess AAA codes last a long time! Good luck!

We've used the AAA Disney World discount a lot, for room-only reservations, by calling directly. Sometimes they're available and sometimes not depending on time of the year and resort, but if not I keep calling and more often than not something opens up.

Besides, our car is old. We need AAA! hah!
