Truth be told, I never did figure out exactly when during the breakdown time I could expect to get an EP, I'd just check the app and see that I'd gotten one and it was time to try to book another LL on a breakdown.

Yeah it seems to be hit and miss as when or if you get a mobile notification when the LL turns into a LLEP.

Plus it is important to know ASAP so you can try and get another LLEP for the same attraction.

1. if something is down book that, prioritizing anything that has a fast return time

2. if nothing is down, book a ride that usually goes down.

If something is for sure down with a soon return time definitely book it. You CAN book things that might go down but I don’t really recommend doing that all day. You want those LLEPs to be in addition to, not instead of, normal LLs. For example I don’t want to be spending all day booking and cancelling Small World which I don’t care about that much while I could be actually getting and using LLs for the rides I do care about. What I tend to do is use the first part of the morning focusing on LLEPs because there’s a lot of delayed openings but it gets to a point where I’ve gotta just start actually planning to use the LLs I booked. I do however try to book things that are less likely to break down earlier so if big rides like Space or Indy go down I can still book them. But at the same time I watch if they’re starting to run out because those are a big priority. There’s not one right way to do it but basically just be willing to be flexible and cancel LLs sometimes and know there will be days you’re luckier than others and make sure to prioritize what is most important to you

Did Splash Mountain allow for you to use the LLEP on Space, Matterhorn, or Indy?

We never ended up using them all. The ones we used went to Mr. Toad and Guardians.

This ended up working well for us. IJ went down soon after opening and was down most of the morning so we got two from that. We ended up getting one for Haunted mansion as well. Overall it made the day much better.

As a side note, we park hopped and used the refresh trick to get much better return times.

It’s basically just constantly refreshing the tip board until a sooner time pops up. Sometimes it takes a lot of refreshing, sometimes it doesn’t. But I highly recommend watching the video PP posted because AllEars is a great channel!

Just wanted to say thanks for the tips about getting LLEPs. We ended up getting two "regular" LLEPs and one "golden" LLEP on Tuesday, though I should note we didn't exactly fish on purpose (one did come from booking Indy in the morning however), the rides just happened to be down during our window -- and the conversions happened pretty much immediately after the windows opened. They were very useful for adding flexibility to our day and maximizing our end-of-the-night ride-fest.

Of note: we had parkhopper tickets and we booked Grizzly River Run first thing while we were at Disneyland for a 9-10am return time that auto-switched to 1-2pm, and the conversion to LLEP happened at 9am. Not sure if that's because it detects the original return time for this, or because they figured out then that GRR was going to be down all day. My sister called the parkhopper auto-switching return time feature "secret knowledge" and we were very grateful to learn about it on these boards -- a good way to get a later return time for something while the crowds are low in the morning and the LL bookings aren't as necessary.

That would explain it -- they ended up draining Grizzly for the day.

So whats the best way to check for rides going down? If this still works in August, I would do it all the day while in standby.


We used to game FP+ all the time, they did not really have aworking system the first few months, and you could book multiple FP with out having to use all your initial FP.

They also still had the paper machines going, so you could book on MDE and still get paper FP…..what a racket!
