I thought I'd try something different today and bought a guava. Now I've got it home I don't know how to prepare it.

Are the seeds eadible? They do seem rather hard.

Any suggestions.

Sorry Libby,
Bit late in spotting your query and replying! You would have tried it by now - as Guavas are quite perishable.
Grown widely in the tropics - they are very easy to eat. I would just wash them & slice into four quarters (like an apple) and you can eat the lot - seeds and all! The inner fleshy bit is the tastiest - the skin bit may not taste as good (particularly if the guava is not fully ripe). A touch of salt & pepper mixture enhances the taste.
Do let us know how you found the taste....

Thanks for your replies. my first guava experience wasn't a big success. I stored it in the fridge which didn't do it a lot of good. Also it didn't seem to fit any of the decriptions I found on the website. My guava had green skin and yellowish flesh - smelt devine but the flesh was a bit tough (maybe from the fridge?).
