How to Easily Mark Luggage

Avon sold really big oval shaped luggage tags in different colors. I did the ribbons before that.

We have bright orange plaid ribbons tied to all handles. We've had it on the luggage for 12 years so far, if the luggage didn't "die" first. We haven't had ANYONE walk off with our luggage! Cost? Free...it was at my MIL's...and no one in the family wanted it.

We used a dog paw print stamp and yellow fabric paint and put dog paw prints all over my black bags about 6 years ago, no one has tried to grab them by mistake. Also who wants to steal a bag with yellow dog paw prints all over it.

I went to Home Depot and got lime green paint chips for Disney paint that are in the shape of a Mickey Head. I then cut out the Mickey head and put each one in a self laminating pouch that I attach to my luggage like an id tag......

I also taped one to the bottom of my laptop for quick identification after going through the TSA checkpoint.

We bought bandanas at Hobby Lobby for $1 each a few years ago. Got the brightest, most obnoxious ones we could find and tie they on the handle.

So glad my bag is a unique color. LLBean used to have a bright kelly green rolling duffel that I use. I had them embroidery my last name on the side of it, just below the side zipper. There is no way you can possibly miss that bright neon green bag coming around the belt. (Unfortunately they no longer sell that bright kelly green, instead they now have a lighter, duller celery green.) Before buying my current bag though, I had a bright pink rolling duffle that I had had my first name embroideried on. Again it was super easy to spot and no one could possibly mistake it for theirs. I also have a hard sided black and white plaid Heys Exotic spinner that's impossible to miss. I've never had a problem IDing my bag as soon as it comes out of the shoot and have definitely never had anybody try to walk off with one. lol

Marshalls had the carry on for like $69.00 and the 25" check bag for $79.00 (they had the 29" too, but it was too big for my needs, so I didn't buy it).

We have navy and red luggage which are very very common on the luggage carousel. I'm looking for suggestion to make it stand out that won't cost me a bundle. Any suggestions?

We buy some "funky" ribbon...and tie them around the handles of our luggage. Just 6 inches or so...enough to make them stand out on the carousel.

I attach a colorful key chain to the handle.

Duct tape. We used neon pink. Rip strips and start slapping them on the luggage.

It didn't damage the luggage in any way. Some pieces I left the tape in place for our next trip, but on my better luggage I removed it once we got it in the car.

No worries, and nobody swiped our stuff

(I had a guy snag a piece of our luggage once too...had to chase him through MCO in the pre-DME days. Wasn't too much fun.)

I got a present that had a curling ribbon bow on it so I saved the bow and put it on my luggage handle. Its been on the handle for several years.

I put the first initial of last name on 3 sides of each piece of luggage using contrasting duct tape. Being 3-4 inches high I can spot them from 50 ft or more. We also have bows made from ribbon and pieces of a very wild colored duct tape as well. Hard to confuse our luggage when it's on the carousel.
