If we go with the 2 kids and get the DDP, we all get the same number of TS meals. Well lets say DH and I want to have the kids go to kids club one night while we go out to a nice (2 TS) meal. If we eat all the rest of our meals together we end up with 4 extra kids TS meals at the end of the trip.

I'm trying to figure out what to do about this. I know that you used to be able to use adult and children credits interchangeably but understand this is not the case anymore. Is this really true or is this just the rules of the disboard moral police ;) ? I guess we can pay cash on our night out so that keep everything even, but it kind of defeats the purpose (and economics) of buying the dining plan. Is there any way to even this out and use all the credits?

It never really was the case. Disney clarified the rules some time back: Child meal entitlements cannot be used for adult meals. Currently, with only minor exception, they're substantially relying solely on their guests' integrity to comply with this rule. It isn't clear whether or not there will be more draconian measures to ensure compliance applied in the future.

Per forum rules, if you have any further questions about this, please contact Disney Dining directly.

The credits are still pooled as noted on many trip reports. Feel free to use them anyway you want, we did a few weeks back and encountered no problems from any CM'S, just encouragement.

We are doing what you detail here. One of our meals, a breakfast, we are paying out of pocket for the adults thus saving those two credits to add to our two dinner credits at our Signature dinner night.

Kids get fed the night we are going out at the Kid Club so there is no need for them to have TS credits for that night.

Hope this helps.

We did something similar recently however our DSs went out to eat with Grandma, so they used their 2 credits and DH and I used our 4 credits. What we did to even it out was for our least expensive meal that week (ESPN) the kids used their credits while DH & I paid OOP.

Couldn't you have paid OOP for the kids meals? Did you have to specify that you were paying OOP for the adult meals with the server when you ordered?
